Win:Lose Ratio's and WHY!!!!

Ok, Why do the few of us do it? I just dont get it!!!! ever since I started I cared about it, but I always ask myself why. Does anyone else have this problem of caring about your win:lose in pub?

It's a game, my man. There are no rules in pub so if you want to try to get the most points, the highest ratio, the highest bounty, the worst ratio, the most losses...have yourself a blast. If you're having fun, you're doing it right.

To me, W/L ratios mean nothing. You can have an excellent player who spends his time greening levs or doing something like that. Or if you play pub 0 a lot where all they do is base, you will probably have a negitive rec unless your terr, only because there is so much killing going on its hard to stay alive.

Those stats only serve to show how well you play compared to your play in previous score resets. Comparing them with other people's stats is meaningless unless you're both playing head to head the entire time.

Whenever I play, I often see people making fun of me because I'm hovering just barely above 1:1, but it doesn't bother me because I know that I did it all in a shark and I tend to suicide whenever I run out of reps. I know how much my stats reflect how I do, while others looking at the same numbers won't. Of course, I also usually just play towards personal watermarks of R 1500 and AVE 150; to heck with my Win/Loss (well, I do keep an eye on it, but for a Shark, it's not so much W:L that matters to me as much as sheer volume of kills and how quickly I can rack them up). If I reach those goals, I'll feel good about it, but either way I won't care about what anyone else thinks, or what their numbers are.

in pub i try to keep my wins at least 30 over my losses.
in javs wins are at least 100 less than losses. its hard to reverse it or get it to equal.

Oddly, I care.

Cause I don't hide in base, rarely jav, rarely tk. I usually chase down people so my rec gives me an idea of how well I'm doing.

If I did hide,tk,be the last one in base only to warp cause I want to save my bounty then I wouldn't care.

I also think highly of those who can keep a decent rec and don't resort to the above mentioned.

Heh, why should anyone care? I mean for what reason do you play Continuum for? Is it for fun or is it because you have anger management and cry when you die a lot? Well, let me help you. If you want a good record, just try to find a decent LT that can take you to 1K bounty when you are LEVI. If not like that then Cloak. It's time consuming but, hey, it gets the job done right? I go back to my words, forget about caring about the score's. The scores get reset like every other 2 weeks. Just play for fun and make yourself confortable in which you like to win.

I'm only happy when my wins and losses are equal in pub. And one of them is 0.

Pub records aren't good for anything but bragging rights and personal pride, mainly because they vary based on your style of play. If you're a straight-up baser, getting much higher than 1:1 can be a task. If you do what I do once in a while and roof, or just hang out in spawn and X people because you've had a bad day, 2:1, 3:1, or even higher wouldn't be uncommon.

Bottom line, like Troll King said, unless you're comparing your record to your own previous outings it's kind of pointless.
