  • Proving Status

I've come to think - the only thing that really shows your experience playing Continuum is your skill and your usage time. I think there should be a "?stats" (or so) command that lists your total combined wins/losses or such, or some other sort of competitive ladder that doesn't get erased every other week. Anyone support?

I think it shows more dedication and skill to bring your public record (being very unimportant in this zone alone though) up to a decent level every 2 weeks and would show more "status" for pubbing then having a total record. So considering it doesn't count for much and the majority of the forum isn't into pubbing you probably won't find the support here.

Btw, the scores are not completely erased: http://edome.fi.soneraplaza.net/subspace/scores.html, it is still controlled by SSC (which would make it difficult for TW staff to change the dynamics of the billing commands/calculations or make ladders based around their information) so if i'm not mistaken their stats page doesn't display total wins, points ect.. but does keep each score period on record.

If it was up to me, I'd erase the whole kills/deaths thing in Trench Wars.

I disagree, rec doesn't affect how good a player you are. For example it doesn't take into account different ships or diff types of players. I'd take an aggressive spider that dies a lot over a camper spid.

And who really cares about proving status anyway? It's just a game.

I don't like that idea really. It doesn't really show your experience with Continuum at all. Well I guess it depends how you define experience. Myself for example, I've "played" for years, my usage is around 200 hours, and my wins/losses is probably about 5/1000. No joke. I guess I might be an exception because I sit in spec and chat all day, but whatever. I'm going to crawl back into my hole now.

Seriously, stop making these silly threads, and get out there in Trenchwars and earn your reputation the regular and old-fashioned way. You are never going to get on a squad posting these retarded ideas on the forum. Just do what everyone else does, play well and suck up to everyone as possible. Then soon or later, once you get up to TWL level, you won't need to suck up anymore. Get some usage and start playing elim. It only takes 36 hours.

Check out the squad stats on www.twdivisions.org regularly to see the rankings of all the squads. Like someone said on the other thread, you won't get on a top -notch squad at first, but you will get there in few years.

Also, try not to make and use too many aliases. It will take you forever to get recognized that way.

If you make a command in-game, it would render our websites useless. And personally, Id rather deal with a website rather than 40 lines of stats.

I think I'll void your replies from now on seeing as how their just flooded with opinions derived from other things. It's difficult to make such a big 'reputation' on a zone with 500 players. The idea isn't so "retarded", some like it, and I think it's a good way to prove to people what you've put into Continuum, and could possibly be used to better recruit people for squads and such.

I think what Swim is trying to say Steelwind is that you're trying to build up a rep in pub and advance from there, well things don't work out that way for most TWD or TWL squads, dueling or basing. It isn't that hard to get a reputation in this zone and if you're not willing to try then just stop posting. If you simplify squads and the sub communities it isn't hard at all to get known. Recruitment is based within the leagues and their sub arenas for most if not all TWL squads, it also could for some lower level squads be based on your public record (which would require the squad to check your scores currently or for a playing period which is available to anyone and would show you're active and can pull off a 1:1 or above record, not like a total w/l which would show little information pretaining to your abilities onsight and habits of playing). Now I think you need to go beyond pub if you want to get into twd or twl games or even a real squad, you're not going anywhere until you explore the zone.

Edited so I don't drudge up this POS thread again:

Steelwind, I said don't post if you're not willing to try and play the game and gain a reputation :chair:. Before you want to post threads and suggest changes to an already oblivious part of the zone and game client I said you should consider giving a real run at playing.

Your pub record is important to maybe 5% of the total game content and isn't looked at by all reputable squads. Adding this I think would be a nice little thing to look at just for fun but will offer no real value of your time in TW or show anything beyond the ammount of time you've wasted in pub and not opened your fucking eyes to the ammount of fun you could be having in this zone. Next to the fact that it would not be useful at all within this zone it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get something changed when SSC's help would be needed, esspically when it would be TW asking SSC to do something.

Who do you think has the most kills total?

My guess would be wix, talon, or khisanth.
