My music player spreads out the sound evenly through the two speakers. The continuum sounds aren't that loud on mine, but still loud enough so I can hear if someone shot at me :P

• You are alerted to PMs that you may otherwise miss
• Some sound macros are funny

Here's a secret: If you terr or shark, hearing mines being laid is vital. You don't get a visual clue that they're there until later. When I really want to be focused, the headphones are in and the sound is up.

Aren't the screams controlled by music? I usually have ?music down and ?sound up and adjust the PC volume to taste.
