hah finally got the spec +1 death rule implemented, after much arguing, now to turn attention to the res cap rule. TW is the only zone im aware of that uses a res cap, and with current "standard" computer config's the current res is far far too low, maybe allow an increase to 1600? or remove completely, hell i wanna play and use my computer to its full capacity not this 1024 crap.

I think it's a good size.... or else when you have it too big, you see a bit too much and your ship turns small....?
I like what we have now. The only reason to change the res. is for spectators since they wanna see more. Is it possible to allow bigger res. for spectators only? :unsure:

Exactly, the max res. is fine right now since 98% of the ppl can play with it? So it makes it fair in TWDD since you only see just as much as the other players... but when you have high res., you'll get shot outside your screen... -_-

why dont you just use res cheats like most other people who want a huge advantage on players like me who have to play 1024 or lower? the thing about this game is, it doesnt require much. i havent bought a new home computer in almost 4 years, and i dont need to. to be honest it probably wouldnt affect me much since i only base, but it would be a huge disadvantage to a lot of people who do more. low screen res has also held me back in svs, where there is no res cap. i think things are better the way they are.

Hmm lets say the res. cap is lifted, now you go into a TWDD, and some dude is chasing you, you stop to try and aim on the radar, and boom you got shot from a bullet outside your screen... what would be your reaction? will it be something like... "OMFG YOU ASS NEWB! DAM YOU & UR RES!" :fear:"

When the res limit was first established a few years ago and people complained, Priitk posted an explanation behind the reason for the cap. As he said then, it had little to do with creating a level playing field. The actual reason was because the ship settings were optimized for a 1280x1024 resolution. With the specialized settings that TW has, ship settings are more delicate and finely tuned than in most other zones so that's why other zones haven't felt the need to place a similar cap.

The only place I see a true 'advantage' over anyone with a lower res than you, is in the Zombies games since you can see them coming before they can see you.

Res cap is a great idea, puts everyone on a level playing field. Just cause you have a 21" or 25" monitor and the hottest new video card shouldn't let you see people on your screen when they only see u on radar.

I reckon the majority of people have 17in monitors which have a default res of 1024 or 1280, so upping it up to 1600 would only favour those with 19in+

they made the res limit for a reason, dont like it ship out, i think it could be upped a little more but my cpu cant handle that so, its more even for the average joe
