If all your experiance the last 2 years is in Death Star Battle, then I would suggest that you spend ALOT of time in ?go base, pubs, or somewhere where you can practice a paticular ship.

Your skills in DSB will lend you very little help in a TW basing match.

I would suggest trying to join an active TWBD squad, such as Tigers or Flagowners or Dudgeon. That way you can get practice in and improve...and if you're good enough and want to you can move on to a TWLB squad from there.

if you want to get noticed, a good place to start is ?go base, and start playing with a medium-level basing squad like Dudgeon, Flagowners, TeKs

?go base requires someone to pick you, but if its not too busy just ask nicely to be put in spider and you should be okay.

Basing is really quite easy as a Spider, you just need to learn a few strategic basics (cram/line/push/cover under) and some do's and dont's (like NOT detattaching near mines).

There's alot of nice people in the basing community that I'm sure can help you out, but those are good places to start!
