Lagouts = unacceptable

I have a cable modem, and this is bs that im laggin out in twd.

My ping is usually between 60-110 ms, yet whenever I get a kill in any of the twd arena's I get somehow spiked to 250m this SHOULDNT happen since I have cable, and I never have any other windows or programs running.

TW has gone too far.

The bot actually checks your lag when you get a kill.

For one thing the bot lag limits are being worked on all the time. On the flip side, though, you wouldn't lagout for no reason. You must be dropping packets or spiking. It might not be visual (like high ping would be) but you are definately spiking/lagging in some way if the bot specs you.

I just tried to play and on the main game screen, my damn ping is like 720..

I'm on a university network and when I trace, the connection is perfect until it gets down to like the 16th host name...those hopone.net hosts sure do suck ass...

for some reason it's showing like 85% packet loss way down there? It's not me...

Actually most universities use technology called packet shaping on their networks to keep people from using bandwidth on P2P networks, games etc. Definately sounds like that could be what your problem is. If not, it could just be a really busy network.

Also, HopOne just doesn't return ICMP traffic (ping) so it looks like you have a really high ploss. It's nothing to worry about.

well I was playing it for a while earlier today..with like 0.2% ploss. In fact this is the first time in awhile it's been like this. The trace shows no problems with ploss until it gets to hopone...

i have ADSL (576k or something close) and i havent lagged out once in TWD or any other games.. plus im from Europe so im hardly close to the servers..

all these ppl that lagout need to turn off kazaa and disable firewalls etc.

good idea, if you got lag problems, simply turn off your FW's and your downloads.

N0ah, I don't have this problem, but I am 100% behind you. Anyone interested can check my TWD stats. I lag out (on average) about once every five games. That's an average over more than 300 rounds played. So I'm not bitching about my own connection. I'm just saying that there is a serious problem here. These people who are being specced are not lagging half as bad as I lagged when I had dialup and the server was in Finland. I think TW really has gone too far and these settings are too restrictive. I want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy TW, and I hate it that people that I've known for a long time suddenly lag out and want to stop playing TW. Just put the settings back the way they were.

My Average normally is a lot lower, but I play with that lag and I also laggout all the time in tourny and also in twd's... I used to not lag out, but now it starts again, I really hate it

Yea, I played again last night and in my dd, every damn time I would get a kill I would lagout.

BTW I dont have ANY downloads in progress, and I never do on this computer. Plus I only have a router, NO firewall.

this is pissing me off...

Why couldnt they just settle with everyone beeing happy. Not just the FEW lucky ones.

We had a jd today against Pallies, and somehow on the round 1 we got 4 lagouts and Pallies 7. 2nd round neither squad had any lagouts. I think the bot is still a bit buggy since I lagged out 3 times round 1 and zero times round 2 and I did nothing about my lag.

Agreed, ever since this lag limit has been implented (sp?), i could hardly play ?go base anymore! Im getting sick of this, captains wont pick me in bds and in twlb matchs cause of this fucking lag limit, before that everything was fine. And I have hardly anything on besides Winamp and Continuum. Im getting so pissed off at this..
