A friendly tip if you upgrade to Norton 2005

I recently rebuilt my primary game machine and decided to upgrade alot of software to match the new hardware. To my chargin I could not get continium .39 to see any of the zones. I tinkered with UDP, I tinkered with my zone alarm and finally I got around to Norton.

Seems Norton now as live worm protection and it sees subspace saying "i want a port" and even if you auto set an open door within Norton for it the latter still denies subspace the required access grrr.

There is hope, you can temp, or even permenently turn off the "live worm block" thereby allowing subspace to continue to be there for you when you feel the need to meet strange new people, and then blow them to star dust

Now to figure out why when I log into the sever it keeps asking for a password. Damn it I have been Tom Sawyer since the song came out, who stole my nick!

If you login subspace under different profiles(diffrent form your usual one), it seems to cut off the last letter of your password, try rentering it.

If you forgot it, do ?lostpassword=(name), just hope you still know the e-mail adress :P

Can't you turn on the port that is required by SS and only allow continnum's IP on that port?

Uhmmm .. not sure what you're crying about.
I have Norton 2005 already for quite a while and there is totally no problem with SS. Never been since the start, and probably never will be. Get your settings straight, or check other programs. Because it's not something you can't do anything about, cuz i have no problemo at all ! With no game at all.
And I also have ZoneAlarm, and that's working fine with SS and other online games aswell. Just get ur settings straight.

Zones use different ports, check the zone list and u'll see..
