I guess I'm the only one that thinks it would be pretty awkward to meet a bunch of internet people somewhere.

Every one of my friends use IRC so it's common that when I meet new people I ask what's they IRC nick because they probably hang around in IRC too and sometimes I notice I've chatted with them on IRC. Seeing internet people isn't very awkward, they're usually normal people :P. Next week I'm driving 400 kilometres south to see some friends I've come to know over IRC. I don't find myself to be a sad person because of this.

Edit: But I'll probably miss TWL which makes me sad =(

The last real SS convention that I know of happened in the year 2000 in Toronto, Canada. I went as it was about 10 minutes from my house (and also tons of players are from the Toronto area). Unlike the first SS con though, SSCon2K didn't have the game creators JeffP and Rod show up. Still we had a dinner one night, and played some paintball the next (I'm not sure what else they did cause that's all I showed up for).

If you want a SS Convention the best thing to do is to set one up yourself or else it's never going to happen. It also helps to have it somewhere near where a lot of players live.

Lies.. if I remember correctly there has been a SS convention about 3 years ago in Holland.. Some dude spammed this forum with it. Alot of players were interested in it.

No way in hell that I'd go to a place where a crazy ass kid would probably come with a gun and shoot every person who ever spawn killed them, or got them with a weasel. I would fall under both categories, so no.

Maybe I'd go to a convention if it was in my country (Belgium) or maybe even the Netherlands. But I'd never go to Finland or USA just to meet some internet nerds. Lol. I repeat .. NEVER.
Only a few guys I'd like to see, but I wouldn't go abroad for them. They're not that interesting.

I think it could work out.....but more then one needs to be held. Maybe like 3 in America (Central, East and West), another in the UK and maybe another in Germany or Norway.

I don't think ppl will just come along to cause havoc...they will most likely be turned against by the whole group.....just the only thing that could go wrong is if a group of reprobates came along and ruined it all.
