Well i've been working on this for some time;
here's abit about a project i started last year...

SubScript - The Website System for SubSpace Squads

Project Goal

To Give a website Resource to SubSpace Squads, and allow them to maintain
a "Web Presence" easily without hassle. Letting them have a decent website and
not have to worry about it, giving them more time to game!!
While also Giving its members and the public sumwhere to view whats up with
the squad, post files and news etc etc...

Overview

SubScript is a CMS or Content Management System written in PHP and uses mySQL to store its data.
Currently SubScript is Still in its early stages and there are many things to be added before it becomes
version 1.0 and public release and the bugs are beaten out of it!

SubScript itself allows its users to easily manage their website performing tasks which are oriented towards a squadrons needs.

SubScript's primary objective is to give all the features needed for managing a subspace squad effortlessly.
Giving more time to play while providing a decent and easy to maintain website...

General

Easy to Maintain Roster.
Public and Private news.
Dueling Ladder.
Downloads Manager (This Still needs Work).
Record your squads history.

Internal

Private Messaging.
Profile that you can maintain.
Menus/Options Specific to rank...

Future Features

Full User Administration.
» Add, Edit, Delete.
News Control Panel.
» Archive Old News.
» Settings (News Per Page etc...)
» Easily Administrate/View All news.
Theme/Skins.
Intergrated Forum.
Tournament Section/Tools.
» These will be such things as announcing Squad Tournaments.
» Adding and Editing all info on a Tournament.
» Random Matchups (for on the day).
» Ref allocations.
» Adding Match Info etc...


TWD results shown like on TWD site (If the possibility arises).

There is also alot more things i would like to add to it currently before i release it as a 1.0 version...

One of the main things is Templating...
So far its a real bitch and not as dynamic as i would like, but im working on it!

SubScript is currently in Closed beta testing, its mainly cos i dont think its as good as it could be for public/open release. But if you are interested in trying it for your squadron then get ahold of me using RiiStar@Gmail.com and we can discuss it. :turned:

So Far its used for the squad i belong to called TeKs.
And FirstStage, the baby squad to BasingCrew from
TrenchWars.

The more Feedback i get on this the better i can improve it! So give me your FeedBack if you use this!

So what exactly is your plan? You'll host other squads websites? Or would you want TW to host this for you?

It looks really cool, though.

One question about the dueling ladder. How does it work? Does it work with the bots, or do the people involved have to submit their results?

ATM i host squads on my hosting if im willing...

I've developed an Installer, but it still needs tweaking.
The general idea was an easy to use do-it-yourself package and i
never had the intention of asking TW to do any hosting.

General assembly is required if you want to customise your theme atm,
but i can help with that etc...

No the main website isnt complete yet cos
i work about 50-60 hours a week so i mostly end up coding SubScript itself.
If none of those links are working for you then wait and try again later,
my hosts DNS plays up from time to time. You could try these tho...

The Dueling Ladder uses the ELO rating formula i got from this forum somewhere :turned: i havnt made bot support because for one i think most squads dont have a bot they can use for that purpose and asking if i can use sumthin like duelbot is ahh... yea...

So for now you goto a 'My Dueling' panel when your logged in and submit your results.
