is there some way to force players that spec for too long in purepubs to go to some other pub? or hell, just disconnect them? spec or watch your chats somewhere that people aren't trying to get into.

AFAIK, Mr. Arrogant 2 should be doing this. (he's a bot) Should be a bit more active in pure pubs though.

The idea was NOT to have another anti-lev thread. Still no one except Spikey (I think he meant that?) has said anything about the most dramatic suggestion: The timer forcing people to go inside base. No one has any oppinion?

Or they can put all the things in one bot. I really have no idea why they're using two bots in the first pubs anyways.

If you have ever programmed, it is extremely hard to modify LARGE programs. One program would be one bot.. Unless they had imported the basics from another, but it would be slower because of all the command lines it has to go through. If they have several subprograms then it is easier and faster to modify in the future, which is what TWDev want.

Also, 36 hour usage+ would be for people who have an idea how to pub and want to go into basing. Maybe it's a dumb idea, maybe it isn't

I agree, but maybe for more advanced players (Most of them are in purepubs, as yourself) staff could make a pub similar to ?go elim, where you need at least 36 hours of usage. Why not make a public where you need to have at least 500 hours (It may be high, but players would also know what they are doing).

Having a bot to kick players in Pub 1 and 0 for now would be good. The ideas from pure publics should be moved out into the entire public system and the thing killing change is the fear of disapproval from the general public, nothing else. Qan had some ideas about using greens to alter ship stats for different publics, maybe 2-3 lower publics could keep the current levi while others get something like the nightwasp. I really didn't like the idea at the time but if it will get something done, maybe the upper half (NW or something like it) will prove to be more popular and take over. The weasel also should be improved once we get anything done on the levi, if we want true basing to actually take hold in the public system.

AFAIK, the bot programming in tw usually means writing new modules that can be loaded to one bot.

Why not just use the settings from ?go newpub?

Dunno if it was said, but I think changing/even removing the holes on roof would help, too many newblets go to roof and dont do much, which decrease the accual basing fun.


But yes, i would like to see another pure pub like pub 0 with timed matches.

Would help possibly bring more youngsters into basing.

No it won't. All it does is encourage people who don't pub anymore to go to a pub (and it's not an actual pub but a contrived one at that). The people who are already in pubs but don't base won't receive even half the amount of encouragement to start.

TW settings has never truly been balanced enough for true basing to occur. Whether or not the admins will change settings is the real question. If TW is to evolve to become a more balanced zone, ship setting changes need to take place, which goes against several years of norm.
