ok im sitting at work right now should be off to get microstar for our lunch but i wanted to know a question thats bugging me because i dont know much about it or if it can be done.

but im sitting at work and all i wanna do is catch up with some ss peeps but im not alowed to install continuum on my pc at work, so is there anyway creating a erm.... like a webbased chat client from trenchwars chat?

ok laff if this is stupid or cant be done but it would be kewl to chat to people who were logged onto ss from say explorer or what ever browser you may use.

No, but there is another software you could download which is called "SubChat", and it only contains the chat without the game.

i think you need to talk to one of the sysops to get on vip.txt for this to work thought... so good luck with that.

I am sitting here and wondering HOW THE HELL DO I GET THIS TO WORK???? and what the hell is vip.txt... someone better explain to me how to get in TW via this subchat thingy. THank y0

just thinking about it like twd gets the info from the server and displays it like php or what ever it uses well this subject boggles me anyway :turned:

What port does this chat program use? Is it the same as ss does? If it is my uni will block it aswell.

Vip.txt is a text file listing all Vip's too ss i.e. the people that are allowed to play the game with sschat or an earlier version of subspace. Im guessing it is stored on the server and so thats why you need a mod or someone with power to add your name to it. Then when youve got someone too add your name to the list, run the exe and go settings -> settings and enter the ip info for tw.

Enter another SSC server that subchat works in, you will not be able to talk in TW local chats but who cares
