    Fuck that, I don't even think I got 1280x1024 res.
    I force my crappy 15 inch or so screen to do 1280x1024, but I dont think its really that big.
    The max res is fine as it is.

              I still didnt see a real good arguement against having it boosted up. The only real arguement i seen was "it gives certain ppl an advantage bc there monitor is bigger" Well thats BS. Thats like sayin someone with higher FPS cant play bc it gives them an advantage over the lower FPS players, or saying someone with dialup cant play bc they'll lag more then cable users, or the other way around (cable ppl cant play bc they lag less). It will never be an even game regardless. I dont see what it would even hurt to rise it to 1600, it doesnt make everything capable of being seen. Plus most every other zone has unlimited res limits, we are the only one who limits it so low.

                Cig, you forget one thing, you're saying that limiting the res is like not letting some people play. You're wrong, everyone can still play. Limiting res is more like limiting lag: If you raise your lag over the limit, you can't play.

                  I logged more hours into TW before the res restriction than after the res restriction heh, and it's been what.. 5 years now?

                  When the restriction was first put into place it really screwed with my vision. Actually gave me headaches because I wasn't used to it. I also have always been a multi zone person, and it was annoying changing resolutions constantly. Not just having to go and manually change it, but also having to readjust my eyesight.

                  I'll agree with Epi that 1600 res was the best res to play TW at. I've also tried higher, and didn't like it. I've had a 1600 res capable monitor since 1997, and I wasn't even close to being rich, so I never bought that argument. You can say that there was an advantage but I'll have to say now what I said to that then, 1600 res it's easier to dodge, 1280 res it's easier to aim. I think they offset eachother.

                  Didn't they try to justify it by claiming that the actual TW base was designed for 1280 res or something like that?

                    • i may be mistaken, but i believe the current res limit is tied to the stay-alive time of bullets/bombs. a projectile only stays active and on screen for so long and 1280x1024 matches up with the current settings as optimally as possible.

                      • Bullets run out after one screen length, but i beleive bombs last forever untill they hit something.

                        • uh yes definitely im sick of poor people making the game suck cause they're so poor. Since most of you guys take this game so seriously if it were upped to 1600 it would probably be motivation for you to get an education and a better job to buy a new monitor to play it on. and if you're a kid well just ask for one for christmas and if you're a poor kid than you're shit out of luck.

                            • I play on 1024x768, and have for quite some time. I wouldn't mind increasing the res limit to 1600, if at least 1/2 the TW community would benefit from it. I say this because I'm getting a new computer eventually, so I hope to play on a higher res.
