The New Weasel is Ridiculous

Cylor, they made lancaster the new cloak hunter and gave it x radar. It works rather well, but it's still a stupid patch to the problem, because lanc is not really good for anything else and this leaves all others ships basically helpless.

The Lancaster? No shit? Well I guess I should have tried that. The fact remains that they're still overpowered as shit, though, and in my humble opinion, something needs to be done.

I liked the weasel when it was big, that was when it actually took skill to play it. I also didn't mind when they shrunk it, it was a welcome change. That's when it was at it's prime. Unfortunately I don't play pub anymore because of this stupid new weasel, and those damn pure basing arenas that ruined leviterring (I say we go back to pure basing weekends ). But the occasional time I do, the pub is usually loaded with these damn lame little things, that are next to impossible to kill even against complete newbs. Put it back to when it was first shrunk.

This is not about its cloaking ability, cloaking was never an issue with the weasel. It's also called the nightwasp, not nitewasp. I can barely shoot one down as it is now. That with the speed, holes, thrust shooting and multifire and limited cloaking makes the ship overpowered. Pick a theme, stick to it then model the settings around it. This is some sloppy shit and I'm glad at least a few people here can see that.

but not all at the same time, your post is misleading. If thrust shoot was removed, players may have more of an incentive to cloak rather than camp. I'm a big fan of weasel, but I barely ever use the thrust shot. Perhaps the max speed while thrusting could be reduced, thus reducing thrust shot speeds. The main use I have for multi bullets its to just let them drift in front of speeding enemies, such as in a flagroom fight.
Oddly enough I do see more weasels than before. Perhaps if javs had their xradar still, there may be less. Because lets face it, taking xradar off javs did nothing to reduce the amount of javs. (Although giving it to lanc did increase the amount of lancs.)

How is it misleading? many people are using all of these things to overpower any ship, and it's far to easy to do it, Easy of use = higher population = Pub Basing becomes crap. Cloaking is what the ship is for not thrust shooting. It's not an assult type ship and should not match it or beat one in a duel almost 100% of the time. Multi does not fit the need or class of the ship, it's meant to be a close range-cloaked fighter, not something you use to fire half way accross the flag room.

Yeah, I think the weasel is Ridiculous because Its way to small, it fits through those cracks no other ship can get into, and I saw it warp and appear right into me and automatically kill me.

That is the misleading part I was reffering to.

As it is, it is difficult to use as a close range cloaked fighter because so many ships can see it coming (Because of either Xradar or not using stealth). Changes could change that, if they happen.

But I disagree with beating other ships almost 100% of the time. In a duel this might happen, but I've never been in a duel, and in pub duels are almost unheard of. I have played weasel almost exclusivly for about a week, and still have more deaths then kills. (Then again, maybe this is due to the large amounts of cloaker hate)

The X has been able to thrust and shoot for a long damn time.

The settings shouldn't go all the way back to what they were before, but they should go part of the way. Thrust shot shouldn't be dropped, but the bullet speed should be reduced back to what it was. Rotation speed kept as it is now, no rockets, and no energy drain for cloaking/stealth, as it was before.

The thrust shot used to be used to make bullets go about as fast as they do now from just regular shooting. With the increased speed of both bullets and forward momentum, it makes the thrust shot too much.

Rion and I used to circle around each other trying to get our thrust shots in a long time ago, before we went back to picking on the people that really deserve it. The levs. Most of the old weasel players want their cloak/stealth back rather than the faster movement, Me included.

I meant in any kind of situation inside or outside of the base a weasel will win a fire fight, cloaked or uncloaked against a warbird, spider, javlin and most terrs.

I think we all want the same for the ship Sarien, I could care less about how it's done. I think we can agree that it is overpowered. I can understand that a lot of you guys still use it like the original weasel, cloaking ect.. but the majority is not going to do that. They will use it the most efficent way they can and that means using the unbalanced attributes of the ship.

Seriously, we need to come up with several different ideas of the directions the weasel can go. Take the original weasel (old old, before it got big) as a base template. So it can go small and faster and eventually become the modern weasel, or a different direction becomes the nightwasp. If anyone would care to bring up further ideas...? Such as a small nightwasp (weak bomb, small, weak bullets) or a totally different direction.
