If someone thinks you're acting enough for him to guess you're a 14-year old and you counter by saying you're actually 15-17, isn't that just making it worse? First off, it's not like a year or two makes much of a difference really; it's like saying "I don't weigh 300 pounds, I only weigh 290!". Secondly, wouldn't it be less insulting if you actually WERE 14? If someone says you're like a 14 year old and you actually are 14, it doesn't mean much, but if someone says you're a 14 year old and you're actually 17, isn't that worse?

And like the second part of my point, if you think it's such a big difference yet someone else says you're exactly the same as a 14 year-old, then it really isn't much of a difference at all. It just means you're older but not much wiser.
