weird continuum bug..

Hey, I couldn't log in to Trench Wars for a few days because, well, when I double-clicked on my icon like I always do, there was some hourglass wait thingy by my arrow when i tried to open it. And it would not let me open it up. So I did a system restore and things seem to be normal for now. But I guess my real question is, what could have caused that to happen? Does anyone know what I need to avoid for that not to happen again? Thanks.

usualy this happens because the program was never quit before, so cntrl+alt+delete and end the task. This may be the problem but, im not sure.

I tried to ctrl-alt-delete, however, when I went to highlight the prog (continuum) it was re-shuffling through the list so fast, it wouldn't allow me to click it and end-task.

It made absolutely no sense, since I've never had that problem before.

Uninstall and download a new application and install it again. ^-^

If it does that again, for whatever reason, just click on the Name tab above everything and it will sort it by name instead of by how many cycles the task is using.

It's related to your anti-virus (or possibly MS Antispyware), don't know how to sort without uninstalling whichever program messes it up.

If you right click -> run as and then hit "ok" on the continuum icon, it'll load all right and you should be able to play. You won't be able to download .lvls or .lvzs though, so if a map changes or it's one you've never been to, you'll have to get someone to send you the files. You also won't be able to ?log.

OMFG! That's what the problem was when I tried to get in Chaos zone or something. So does it means I have to ask someone from Chaos to send me the files?

Ewan, thats interesting. So do those antispyware ruin the continuum program or something? Because I was thinking the same thing. I did d/l quite a few spyware progs just to test them all out. but my continuum was working fine soon after.. for a bit. then all of a sudden, it stopped. at the moment, i just have lavasoft ad-aware remover, and search&destroy spybot, then norton-antivirus. I guess i'll just keep these progs, I heard spysweeper does something funny.. so im stay away from that.

I have McAffee anti-virus and I had that problem too, I had to log off windows and then back on for it to work all right. I seem to be able to run everything ok as long as Continuum is the first program I run when I start up Windows - I usually only get this problem when I open Continuum after having opened up the Internet.

i had the same problem before.. when i had some anti-spyware software installed.. i think it was spy sweeper or seomthing. once i uninstalled that, everything went back to normal

The problem reclusion was talking about has nothing to do with spyware or anti-viruses. All you have to do is go to "View > Update Speed > Pause" Or simply slow. That way it isnt constantly re-organizing them.

Also, on my old comp, SpyBoy S&D caused a major problem with Continuum. And the only way i was able to fix it was reformatting. Had something to do with S&D removing a file it thought was corrupt in the subspace directory.

How about uninstalling McAffee then <_<
