Ok, so I'll do a quick recap on things. And in case you already know these things and are lying, maybe the next LT lover who comes here notices this. If you don't believe me and need more info, do a search on forums. Thing has been discussed 197 times. Anyways, the main thing you already said yourself:

It's a good pub because there is no LTs. When LTs come there they destroy basing. People stop going for the flag. (For the most part at least.) It's not something you can "learn to play with and against". You can be the best terr in TW, but you won't be able to dodge a lev hitting a wall next to you. (Especially if there is other team in the flag room too.) This "learn to dodge an atom bomb" argument has been brought up 146 times.

Here's another thing commonly used by LTs to "justify" their laming. It's been brought up 186 times.

I don't WANT to hunt the LT. I want to play in BASE. If the LT is good (in other words warps as soon as he sees blue on radar.) it's gonna take a while to get him. And after I get the lt, there's most likely already another. And if I don't stay in the spawn and kill the lev until he gets bored, the LT is flying around in no time. So this means that if I go to the path of hunting the LT it means about 5 minutes of basing for every 20 minutes of hunting LT. And two guys LTing, two guys protecting the LT, three guys hunting the LT means seven guys not playing the way the arena is meant to be played.

The reason why "everyone sits in a fucking warbird in the spawn area" is that people have learned that if they go to base in pubs other than the first two, they're going to get lev'd. If what you want to do is fight in wb in spawn area, you might as well be in the other pubs too. And if someone do start basing in a dirty pub, there are usually some morons going around the pubs finding a base game to ruin.

Other things annoying about LTs:
-Their whole playing style is usually lame. If you hunt them, they warp as soon you get close. They shoot you out of radar when you're concentrating on playing.
-They teamkill. A lot. Most levs don't give a shit if they kill team mates.
-Some of them start bragging about their wins/losses or bounty even though there really is no real skill in LTing. (Please, before you start arguing on this, do a search in the forum for that subject.)
-Some of them talk a lot of shit in the pub, and in the forums.
-Their whole concept is selfish. (Ya ya ya, usually.) The only reason they LT is that they get kills (cool) or get a good bty/w:l ratio (radical). This all is on the expense of others.

THAT is why people hate LTs. You are definitely not the first one to say "LT is just another aspect of the game". That doesn't mean shit though, it's as bad of an argument as those 165 times it has been brought up. In real life, people have to live with the fact that they any day they can get a cancer. It's just another aspect of life. That, however, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to get rid of it.

If I want to do something else than spawn kill people in pub, I'll choose pure pub. Seems other people are starting to learn too. LTs, R.I.P.

LT was fun in the old days.. when they didn't have the bumpers right outside of the base, and you could load bombs in from the asteroid circle.

I disagree with this part. People don't sit in spawn in their warbirds because there's too many levis ruining basing. They do it for the same reason people like to levi. It's just plain easy. If you ask the average non-basing pubber why they don't base, they won't say it's because levis ruin the fun. They also won't say it's because the weasels are too small or that there are too many teamkilling javs. Those are the reasons basers don't like to base in pub. With the average non-basing pubber, the issue isn't that there's too many things that ruin basing for them, the problem is that there's not enough of a reason for them to want to start basing. Getting basers back to pubs will help, but we need to do more.

Now don't get me wrong; I'm not saying those problems I mentioned shouldn't be addressed. If getting rid of those problems gets more basers to start playing regular pubs then that's still a huge plus. We shouldn't pat ourselves on the back and call it a job well done though because that's only the first step. Getting non-basing pubbers to start basing is the next. The way I see it, if LTs are indeed dying out and a lot of people stated that LTs were the main reason they didn't play in regular pubs then it's time for them to step up and return to pubs. If that doesn't happen then that first step is as far as we'll get, and that's not good enough.

Someone messedup the settings for the levi, lanc, and the weasel real bad. Why not just take those ships away from the game. I guess its just a question of time until someone will mess up the wb settings by giving it slowmotion bullets or something to try to force even more people to base.

Meh, a bit of a misunderstanding. What I meant is that there are two kinds of people in pubs. The ones who play the base game, and the ones who don't. The ones who base, usually go to pure pubs, they're the ones who have learned that you can't really be inside base in the dirty pubs and go to pure pubs. The pubbers who don't base don't have to care about where they play. So it's not like people base less, it's just that the ones who play the flag game go to the pure pubs.

I think one way to fix this would be to make one of the pubs have the original settings/map, then people who wanted to play there could, and all the people who didn't could go to the pure pubs. I personally enjoy LTing, and although I was still in DSB in the times you people were talking about, I think LTs dying out would be a bad thing.

And for the most part, LT's do not TK because they are on their own freq, so they can get more kills.

The only Lev/Terr I've ever seen talk shit is ISREALI F15-ACE who talks shit anyway, LTs dont talk shit.

For the past 2 or 3 years, the best players to spend almost all their time lting have been: Jimbojimmy, corvair, bharat, elliptical halo, method, redX, da farmer!, fistula, spacedust, lost_shadow, baby bunny, and some guy with a finnish kind of name with a k in it (I'm probably forgetting a bunch). Out of those people i haven't seen jimbo, corvair, elliptical, method, and da farmer! for months. bharat, fistula aka confluence, spacedust, and lost_shadow aka eke don't seem to lt anymore. I've seen redX and baby bunny very occasionally still going at it though. If 10 out of 12 don't even get in the ship, it's definitely not looking good for lting. The occasional time I do see a lt in pub, they're some terrible newb that die within a couple minutes. Gone are the days of 1000 and 2000+ bounty lt's that would take hours to do, the pubs just aren't big enough to support them.

I agree with nick, It would be very cool to have pure lting weekends (and none of this 8 turret shit or whatever it is) instead of the pure basing weekends of old.

however I think the weasel is now more powerful than it used to be when it could stay invisible forever...
