Give it another week or two, I know Ari and now 2D wait for a large number of maps before checking and uploading them. Also he's probably at school right now so expect a longer wait time for maps.

I don't know of anyone else who is active, has the access and skills, time and will to do it besides him currently... maybe Superdave but transfering control of it over to him would take time, assuming 2D is still doing it...

Trusting and keeping a person active and effective with Super Mod powers seems to be harder then you think, at least in TW. It's going to run like that because it's as "smooth" and safe as upper staff wants to be.

One: *putfile is an sysop command so it requires either a sysop or someone with ftp/direct access to the server the upload files.

Two: I've heard from a friend of a friend that 2dragons is out of town. This isn't him sitting at a computer going "Hmm, this map is from Sumson, lets not upload this until he complains."

Upper staff will not decide to do something base on what you, me or Kolar thinks, so there isn't much reason to complain, sorry.

I'd like to have the settings in ?go omniverse tweaked, when someone who is carrying a flag gets teamkilled, this flag drops owned beside him, the flag should drop unowned at center to make the game more fair.

I'm sure there's enough loyal staff who would love to become a map uploader / setting changer.

If staff does not care about running things smoothly, it does suck. Maybe get someone on staff who cares about the zone and likes to improve it?

having people willing to take the job is one thing, but having Dock trust this new guy with sysop power is another. sysop or even smod power isnt something you'd just give out cause someone wants this position. Especially after what have happened in the past few months.

I think upper staff cares about running things as efficiently as possible. It makes sense especially when you're making nothing off of this. There are issues of trust and competency which effects the process greatly when considering a person for such a position. There are other factors like the preception of the person "deserving" the rank so it isn't as easy as picking a random Mod who can FTP some files or knows what an LVZ is.


As I said it's hard enough to keep a Super Moderator working for TW, keeping one to do a specific job and high stress job should be harder. Although the commands for this job are Sysop level I still see the person as a Smod.

Maybe it's possible to code a program which only allows someone to upload maps and nothing more, then you don't have to worry too much about exposing the server to someone. Even a smod could be put in charge of uploading.
