fuck this automated tourny noise!
1.) the bot is atrociously bloated, making for one hell of a laggy arena.
2.) being that no one is officially "hosting", lagcheaters run rampant. (i guess they get their jollies off at the thought of being highly ranked on some website no one ever visits.) couple this with the fact that the arena is already lagged to shit and awfully glitchy because of the bot, and you get a nice, large dose of, "this is outright pointless."
3.) there's absolutely no sense of accomplishment anymore, thus sucking all the fun right out of the tourny. it used to be when you won, you and your partner would get a zoner. and hell, a large part of the time even the final round got a zoner because you had top notch players participating and it was an exciting thing to watch, warranting the ad that called in more spectators. (hardly any top notch players participate these days, and i wonder why they don't...)
there's no reason why we can't still have manually hosted tournies as a compliment to the automated system. and i would hope that there are at least a few staffers left with the know how required to manually run the show.
