So there's TWO strike/speedball posts going now... i love that.
Going to get an organized hosted set of games this Sunday (March 5) at 2:30 PM EST. we'll do 5 on 5 and everyone there will be there to play an entire game so it won't be the come-and-go chaos of a normal game.
just trying to get interest going here, again, we (myself and some pallies) are playing at night... around 9-11 PM PST.

and especially noting c-wolf Mr. MIA in SB? Shit I am in the arena all the time..sad part is that nobody else ever is...just end up being a practice arena to take shots on goal. Sat in that arena for 4 months pre-season of the last league and it did not do all that much...had nockm stop in and keep me company. Would be nice to have a bot in the arena just to keep it alive and active....doubtful though. Lurking to keep it listed usually works for a short time until your kicked by Mr. Arrogant.

i don't know, ?go elim and ?go base seem to do okay, ?go base definitely has/had it's regulars but it got new players into the game and provided a relatively/occasionally competitive game. autosb will be a little tougher if it's 5 on 5 because it's only 10 players involved, but i think doing more than 5 on 5 at this point is foolish as it's hard to maintain a full game (plus it gets chaotic and laggy with all the players and decoys, i really think the game is made for 5 on 5 as is). I guess I'm not really worried about new people at this point, the best thing we can do for the game right now is have a competitive competent bunch in there, that can only aid in it's growth. (keep in mind ?go base used to be in a private arena and we'd just invite the basing squads to come in)
I liked the hosted game earlier, Pure_luck said he'd put someone to work on a bot that would run organized games... my thoughts on that:
1. if it's possible for the bot to automatically add someone who wants to play in spec when someone leaves, that would be tits, otherwise i think ?go base style captaining is in order so it doesn't constantly end up 5 on 4 etc. Basically something has to account for people leaving... I guess that's what made the sort of meritocracy of ?go base work so well.
2. i think the best way to keep it going at first is to have elim style ads when games start and finish, don't know if that's possible, at the very least use ?go wbduel style reminders
3. i'm not sure how full the arena will be but maybe games to 5 is more in order so it's not a ridiculous wait between games, also i think a shorter game is best for our predominantly ADD contingent.Comment
