Anyway, saw my name mentioned so I figured I'd post my two cents

As Stabwound said, back when I was staff, my name got hacked by some kid and at the time that name, was Captain of the squad so kicked everyone out of the guild. Also I used the same password for all my other names and he logged on to the name of the owner of RB and dissolved it that way.

I managed to get my staff name back because I used the ?lostpassword command. P_L made a deal with the kid who hacked my name and he gave ownership of RB to P_L who in turn returned back to me.

Uhm anyway, so what I'm saying is, if you use multiple names, make sure you use different passwords too

Yeah pointman told me before if I wanted wishy16 back i had to talk to him because he could do a hardware check or something along the lines of it

Wow, I haven't seen a hacked staff name in a long time. I suggest making harder passwords using letters and numbers work good for staff.

Ok this is turning into a flame Enda thread for losing his dumb name, so im going to put this back on track. This isn't about me losing my name, its about the biller system, currently its very slugish and i hate to admit a bit corrupt. I understand that Mackie is weighed down with requests but ZZ sent two forms and heard nothing back, and if what you said is right PL, he should have heard something pretty swift. I believe it should be delt with ingame by a biller in our zone, TW.

Our biller system isn't corrupt, just a bit slow.. but working just fine for the moment. In many cases, names are returned to their owner pretty quick. You were just one of the unlucky persons that encountered some problems. We should be glad people still take the time to do these things. If any of us would take over, we would be sick of all the people private messaging you for names (and dont say you would be happy to do it Enda, cause you also wouldn't last more then a week).

That was back when they introduced ?lostpassword. Before this period of being able to ?setemail, there was no ?lostpassword command.

Just figured i'd post something here in response to all of this.

Not really sure what else to say other than this has been one VERY intresting topic to read, and I wish everyone that has problems with their user accounts the best of luck in getting them back.

Anyways, say I have a new computer and a different IP address then from when I registered an old name. the email I used i don't have the password too so I am basically screwed. If I have 2 other names that I have the password and email too, and also were made with my old computer/ip address.. shouldn't that be enough right there to get my old name back?
