Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it's not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won't. it's whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.:fear:
I wouldnt stop playing SubSpace 2d, however if you made a game like that, it shouldnt take the name SubSpace at any point.
SubSpace is, and will always be a 2d game for everyone.
But Im not saying I wouldnt play that.
3:Wax> ard and i snapchat all the time

3:Ardour> we basically are each others personal psychologist
3:Shadowmere> i.d., Wax breaks keyboards playing SubSpace. Best not ask him what anything is.
3:Wax> Tummy sticks is the situation, commonly referred to as a game, in which two erect men cuddle closely and face-to-face causing their two erect penises, or sticks, to push upwards between their stomachs, or tummys.
3:Wax> Sticks combine with tummys, hence the name "tummy sticks."
3:Shadowmere> LOL
3:i.d.> Oddly, that's close to what I thought it was...

Technically, 3d ships IS Descent, well plus the full directional control since we sure as hell don't have strafing option in this game. Only other difference is that Descents take place in the mine. I think what 404 is talking about is Freespace, since that series is all about being in open areas instead of a map in Descent.
Only other similar game that I've barely tried is Alliance which was originally done by macrosoft, back when I guess they did videogames on PC? I didn't get into it much so I have no idea about it, but everyone who has touched the game has moved onto EVE? It seems this way.
can programers use those games as a like a "base" for 3d subspace?

There was a SS 3d game out yrs ago, that never really got off of the ground. It was very similar to "Descent".
Boki knows or had something to do with it if I am not mistaken, yet I may be as it was yrs ago.
No, he's right...There was a project a couple of years ago called "Continuum: Next Level"...I played it a few times, and it was decent, but it never got out of beta testings with barely skinned models.
This is the old website for it: cnl.sscentral.com
it's not up anymore, though, so...
