Zone Objectives

I wrote the following towards this same effort a few years ago....

Mission Statement
The ultimate goal or objective of TW is the development and maintenance of an online community that fosters teamwork and camaraderie among it’s members. By providing an environment that promotes integrity, good sportsmanship and fun, TW strives to remain as one of the Internet’s best online gaming communities.

TW Values
By embracing the following values, TW can fulfill it’s objective stated above.
We acknowledge that we are, first and foremost, a gaming community that should represent the highest level of play for an online game. Teamwork is a primarily consideration for our community since we believe that there is nothing we can do as individuals that we cannot do better as a team.
Additionally, we are dedicated to a singleness of purpose and insist upon open communication and mutual support for one another in every aspect of our community. The members of our community shall act with fairness and integrity in everything they do, players are expected to take personal responsibility and understand they are held accountable for their actions. We firmly believe that sustained success will result from our collective ability to continually strive for improvement in each and every aspect of what we do and who we are.


Note I got flamed for this, saying I was too serious, I was too old, and I was trying to turn TW into a business. I commend and support your efforts. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

this is cool thread and seems very good points to addear too so i guess i want to make my point here.
I dont like the fact the pub map changed to a damn special map for me who loves to pub either if its just when i wake up in the morning or a quicky half hour lunch break or when work is finally over or just a late night comfort.

In the past pub map has been altered for many reasons and i dont disagree with them altho LT days were very fun, but changing the map to the ?go boki layout (correct me if im wrong) just really got up my nose its an event layout you need alot more ppl for this type of basing so by changing the map you have taken away my basing pleasure, so please in future keep the pub map we all grown with and love, tweak it but dont take it away again please.

main aspects also need to cover:
balance between ships (we dont want pub to end in a 10 jav 10 LT 5 wb game)
balance and layout of the map (attacking, defending, roofing, spawning)
fun (we dont want pub to end in a 15 spider 1 jav 1 terr 2 sharks game)
diversity of the community
growth of the community
settings protection
improvements (GFX, ASS, ...)

and they should be more clear. saying the main aspect of trenchwars is basing and other stuff like dueling is not going far enough.

Hi my friend.

I'm just gonna add to this, that it was the SubSpace communitys choice to make changes to Trench Wars. So far I havent seen much whining about it, but joy of pubbers since they get something new.

I believe it was even voted for the best choice, the boki map that is, if the public map would be changed.

Community consists of alot of players, not just one. Sometimes ones joy might have to be lost for 10 others joy to be increased

One THING FUCK OFF the map is a event map it ruins the whole idea of base without the players in the arena its like a ghost base wtf is the point.

so if they intend to keep it at least up the cap so that there are enuff players to make it like a base game rather than an odd looking map with no competition.

Diversity of community would include getting gamers from different parts of the world, and getting enough staffers to host events in different regions' prime times.

It could also mean getting more people who are much different from Izor.

when speaking about the complexity of this zone 1 player that does something unique is worth more than 10 players who base or duel and should not be screwed over. that is what i ment with diversity which is adding a lot to gaming experience.

like a lot of people want to nerf the coaker further, which would probably increase basing quality for the cost of 1 ship that only few people play. yet this zone without a usefull cloaker would only be half as fun.

and IF some1 bothers to write down zone objectives this should play an important role. actually he adressed it [...while not neglecting other aspects of Trench Wars...] but this is to vague and unimportant in my oppinion. it should be supported more because it makes a zone very colourful. so i did what he asked for and made a suggestion instead of posting some useless trash. please explain me how this is idiotic, i must be to dumb to understand it. actually, please dont and just shut up.

In case you haven't noticed, Izor, if we already have players from "us, canada, mexico, or europe" then we already have some diversity. We also already have Brazilians and Australians playing, and I wouldn't be surprised if people from other places played as well (and if you're really against Aussies playing, then I'd like to hear your thoughts on this thread's starter and my favourite New Zealander.)
