Why so many stickies?

I speak for myself when I say that they're just a waste of screen space and scrolling time. I'm sure that there are those that check them periodically, so how about a whole seperate forum be created just for stickies! Yay! great, no more stickies in here.

Why am I suggesting this? I barely post/read anyway.

PS: This should be a sticky so that everybody a year from now can reply and give their input on the subject, even if it has already been resolved.
