I'm in Rochester, NY. My connection is powered by (I think) dual OC3's. If it isn't dual OC3's it might even be a DS3 or two. At any rate, for those of you who don't know anything about networking, it's a really fucking fast connection. I can download a 700mb movie in under a minute on a good day.

My pings in TW are down in the 60ms range on average. This is pretty high considering my proximity to the server. I can handle 60ms though. My packetloss is another story altogether. At any given time, I'll always have at least 5%, however, I'm usually much closer to 10%. I can't play in elim, baseelim or TWD.

What the fuck is up with that kind of packetloss? It just doesn't make sense. Want to hear the best part? After running some traces, it's come to my attention that the first hop my connection hits after it gets out of the local university network is all the way down in Austin, TX. Again, I say WHAT THE FUCK?!

You're lucky you don't have this kind of bullshit antagonizing you each and every day my friends.... damn lucky.

Sadly enough, being one of those kinds of people J would have to get in touch with, he'll most likely get a bullshit answer (filled to the brim with obscure tech acronyms). Net admins (especially Uni net admins) generally do not give two cents about someone having trouble playing a game on their network.
