Save Trench Wars Ideas

ok, i've thought long and hard about this over the past few days. . . most of it was inspired by the inhaling of foreign fumes, but i think it's still a legitimate way to brainstorm.

i'm a bit skeptical about trench wars being able to constantly bring in a thousand dollars worth of donations every 4 weeks or so, even though we have an amazing community. so, to make up for this, i was thinkin of ways that we could encourage some "donations". so here goes. . .

1. this is my favorite, but it'd take alot of work. i still think we can name some of the arenas like pro sports teams do. for example:

?go mcdonald's elim
zone name: Trojan Wars
well, you get the point, i was brainstorming names with some people on staff chat. . .

2. you can purchase events. hey, i get bored once in a while, if some1 wants to donate a buck or two for me to host a tournament or whatever, i'll do it, i'm sure the rest of staff would be up for that too.

3. made you look is forcing me to put this up. . . a tw operated porn site. myl wants to be a model for the site. i told him we want people to come back, not be disgusted, but i don't know, maybe we can put a paper bag over his head. . .

4. i like this one too: auction off staff members. i know some ppl would pay good money to have tigerex as their hosting (or whatever else) slave for a day. i would! and hey, bragging rights to whoever brings in the most money hm.


that's all for now. my roommates and i are going out for a session later tonight, um, when i say session i mean. . . anyways, yeah, i'm sure i'll think up more bright ideas when that happens, til then, feel free to criticize eh!

Do not, i repeat do NOT donate money to the Trench Wars server:
1. Waste of money for a 2d spaceship game.
2. 15+ Other SSC zones that are free, Plus Many other Non-SSC.
3. Lets say you donate, for example a large amount, what if you are one of the only players who does donate, well LOL you just lost all that money when TW shuts down.

You will only be wasting your time/money if you do however donate, there are plenty of other online games out there that are free, and even some that you are required to pay for but with much better gameplay.

DONT DONATE.

p.s. Anyone who flames this post, can do any of the following:

5. make a squad pay a flat fee to get into leagues, cuz that's where alot of the work goes into. just a small amount for squads to get into twd, twl still being a reward for winning twd.

6. a 50/50, it works everywhere, why can't it work here eh?!

7. see how much ppl would pay to shut up ppl like chronic.

anyways, i don't think you understand the concept of donations. so let me give you the www.websters.com definition:

in this case, the cause is trying to keep the zone that has helped us kill off the better part of our adolescence into wasted time! but also, i know i've gotten help on some assignments from some players, i've heard of ppl meeting up in real life through the game, and i know almost everybody can say they have some friends in the game. i think it's a fair trade off.

maybe you don't want to donate, whatever, that's your choice, but discouraging people from doing so? trying to make them feel "stupid"? that's rediculous, ppl who feel they want to help out obviously care more about this zone than you do.

and in response to the "anybody who flames this post" thing. well at least u knew it was comming, ur not completely lacking in intelligence. . .

The zone has been around long enough, much longer than you have been a part of it, now Rand i understand where you are coming from, you are a mod, and its for your better interest that this zone remains an active part of your life, but for players like me who have been around since the beggining, we could care less if it stays or goes, all im trying to do is give you people some lives, this game eats up too much of peoples time, im sure everyones mother and father would be much happier when their children start getting off the cpu and getting outside more, instead of rotting in front of a cpu screen.

in response, i think that ppl should have the right to chose what they want to do. you aren't encouraging them to "get out more" you are saying "go play somewhere else that is cheaper". maybe you're somebody from another zone, i dont' think i've ever seen your name in trench wars.

and i don't know, i don't pay for video games in particular, i'm a poor university student, but for all the kids out there who have parents buying them 400 dollar video game systems and 80 dollar games, i think a dollar a month for trench wars would be a far better value. think about it, we have to have at least two thousand people who play the zone (if we are getting 600 people on at a time), an average of 50 cents a person, over a year. . . 6 dollars a year. . . that's not a bad bang for yer buck.

only thing is, that's american dollars. up in canada 50 cents a month turns into a couple hundred and we're screwed

How about this?!

Why don't they get a ad campaign and sell space to companies. Then like every so often through out the day zone broadcast a company slogan and or a brief ad.. and have said companies pay to have thier slogan or ad broadcasted to 1000's of people? it's possible don't you think?

Though I think with that you will have to run the game like a legit online game and remove the sexual and vulgar talk in pub and on this forum. Which really shouldn't be here any ways

and if you use my idea, I get policing abilities and on the ban free list for life. lol
