Newsletter

As with all my posts, I'm paranoid someone already posted something like this in the forums, but I didn't find anything in a search.


We obviously have a lot of members of the forums who are MIA, why not start a newsletter and send it to everyone registered here.. it could nudge a few back into the game, remind the others how much cooler this is than WoW...

The newsletter would even be a nice thing for those of us who still play the game... maybe some trivia, updates on going-ons in the game, whats going to be hosted when... and a random cartoon making fun of noobs...

There are so many other things that could use the time investment rather than this.

I'll have you know that I had a long, quiet, 12 hour night shift in which to do things like create a Trenchwars newsletter.

Despite the appearance of above document I actually do a good bit of graphic/web design work... and considerably less of 8-bit style comics... if given the opportunity I'd really enjoy making a newsletter to send out.. but good point, without access to emails I guess that won't happen.

.. but I keep hearing about Dangergirl being MIA.. doesn't anyone at all here talk to her offline or outside the forums? Hopefully she's okay, these forums are in a sad enough state even with her help..

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. I know we have been tossing around a lot of ideas over the past year... this one struck me as feasible because we have the emails.. the people at some point played SS...

we could emphasize some new arenas, events, tournaments going on.. maybe even some small prizes.. like those old subspace tshirts they were selling a few years back or an original copy of the game.. I would gladly donate a few bucks to trenchwars if we would do something like that.

And besides, the newsletter would just be fun.

I have to say I hear enough about tw when im online ... which is way too much.

You say a newsletter would bring back population ... it might at first. First couple of issues people on the forums who havent played in ages are like "Ooooo I forgot about the 1337ness of teh Trench Wars, LETS GO!" and then what? We get everyone back that would come back, and then it'd just be an annoying newsletter spamming up peoples inbox. Some people would like it, others wouldn't. It wouldn't keep a constant stream of new players coming to tw though, which is what we need right now.

And just for the record, the idea of putting a newsletter in the hands of someone who plays tw ... scary though, whoever you pick!
