Overburn was the one who discovered the "extra" tiles, which I am surprised aren't used as frequently as they could be (are they used at all?). One tile makes thors disappear and warps a player's ship on contact while being entirely invisible (screen & radar). See this sticky from SSforum.net: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=6111

As well as his (unifinished) map editor, he made 2 very useful tools.

The first was "tilereplacer.exe". This allowed you to simply change all tiles of a certain type to a different type. So you could change all of a particular tile to a safe or something. This was useful because it was the simplest way at the time to get special tiles into maps as SSME did not support them, previously you had to edit the map in a hex editor.

The second was a bmp -> lvl converter. I believe FACTS let you change bmps into lvls, but I heard it was pretty complex to use. Overburn's tool required you to simply choose a monochrome .bmp, choose what tile to convert it to and press GO and it would make a .lvl for you.

I think I still have both these tools on my other computer, I don't know how useful they'd be but if anyone would like them, forum PM me and I'll get them to you in the next few days.

It's called DCME and FACTS (or was it clt?), either way it doesn't fuck up the game, it's just Continuum is poorly coded and doesn't know how to handle such situations. H0b is definitely not the first to discover it.
