In theory, it can work, but not for ?go base.
It would make for an interesting weekend event, though. Invite basing squads for a round robin tournament type of thing. Random names in a proverbial hat and the winning squad stays, new squad comes in. If you get the "#30" (WWE Royal Rumble Reference) you have the best chance, but what if, say, Dice or Spastic holds the #1 spot on through. It should make for some good drama on top of the sporting element of it.DELETEDComment

Who can really determine why people leave base after a game? It could be anything from going to pick up your little brother to satisfying a craving for the javelin. It would be fun to keep winners on top, but I doubt that all 8 winners would not only be able to stay but also want to stay.
