[Regarding the mpogd.com votes] Not sure how many of you are aware of the level of .. stupidity that's been tossed around over this, but here are some thoughts to consider..

If you have been flaming the booty-master forums, you are making us look bad and it's even caught the attention of the rest of Subspace (eg: other servers & ssforums.net admins)... Specifically I've seen PoLiX commenting on all this with booty-master admins. Trenchwars is the only community that's been mentioned as a problem but I'm sure it's not limited to us.

If you've been proxy-voting (my new invented term) on mpogd.com you can stop now. We should never have done it in the first place. Subspace is an old game, the communities of much younger games should be looking UP to us.. especially for hanging on 10 years... NOT stooping down to our level of using proxies just to win an online voting contest.

We can only win ONCE a year... so we win now or in December... and we win once next year. No biggie. As long as we are in the top 5, we are visible, people will wonder who we are and drop by. 1st place is nice but not essential.

I love this game and community... I doubt after 10 years any game (except maybe Starcraft) can or ever will be able to say they have such an active group of players...

..but a handful of people have made what should have been no big deal, into a black eye for us. I know booty-master isn't innocent either, they sure as hell had some idiots proxy-voting as well... but they aren't the ones I've spent the last 8 years shooting and chatting with.

A lot of you probably don't care about this, I'm hoping a few do though. We are looking for ways to make this game better, you know? This isn't the way to do it.

I didn't say we stop voting. Noone sent me. I'm saying a handful of people are making us look like jerks. I don't condone how booty-master votes and that's not the point of what I wrote.

But thanks for totally overlooking all my points, beating your chest and yelling something about Subspace.

I didn't intend for that to come across as sounding pissed off... I am in the middle of ten things at work and drifting through these forums and just reflexively said what I thought. But I think you missed what I was trying to say. Yeah I admit I like booty-master... but I spend most of my free time in Subspace and it's the only game I really give a damn about. I am constantly looking for ways to help the community out (eg: my failed attempt at a newsletter) and in this case, I see some of us acting the fool and hurting our reputation, I had to say something.

I have also been reading the Booty forums, noticed that the Booty admin stopped playing Continuum because we got "100 votes in 30 minutes".
Lol, he's underestimating our number of faithful players =o

The thing that i dont like is they're "forcing" their players to vote because of certain incentives / in-game bonuses. Is sort of like bribing you know? That's not really what voting for game of the month is about, is sort of like 'buying votes'.
On the other hand, all we have is a greeting message saying you CAN vote for Contiuum if you want, giving the player a freedom of choice with no bonuses whatsoever and they can vote on their free will.


But anyways, back to the point, we should cut back on cutting each other's throats, relax and spread some peace!

Besides, Continuum's 10th anniversary is in 2 days, lets make it a nice present for the game to try and win Game of the Month eh? ^-^

Thank you. I agree. On the eve of our 10th anniversary, can we at least just enjoy it. It could have been really helpful to our player base having the main admin for a new and relatively popular game as a fan of our game. Especially when his game only takes five minutes a day to play. He could have easily worked some deal where we cross-advertise games and I'm sure it would have snagged some more players for us.
