Pub

So i posted a couple ideas to help pub elsewhere but did not get any response. To summerize:

Pub does not have a focus, it's more or less a huge wb map with a base map on top taking up abut 1/10th of the total map. If basing is the focus in pub it doesn't show.

Everyone is flying around doing their own thing. Some wbs are just dueling in spawn and near the bar. Some are Lting, some hunting Lts, some ships wandering around spawn b/c that's where they start and spawn is huge. Some are basing, and there are always a ton of javs in base.

Some like the hodge-poge of random pub, but it IS more exciting and fun when a greater number of people are trying to take base.

1. Shrink the spawn area/bottom of the map or make it a huge safe zone. This will push people up into the main focus on the map which is the base.

2. People like to wb duel and jav in pubs. Make seperate pub maps for a wb areana like twdd, and javs like twjd. There are maps for competeive wba nd jav play, but often people jsut want to do these in a pub like manner.

This would be good b/c people can focus on what they want, and people will move detween the different maps.

Also, upon entering pub there could be a message stating to look at A1 for rules and areana listings. Then we could list out all the basic pub maps and
"?go" maps and a brief description of what they are. This would help a lot so new people can see what is offered in TW.

i'll go ahead and agree with you there, ivan. i was pretty blazed when i came up with it and it's obvious no significant change will ever be implemented to publics or any part of this zone.

I don't really want to play in pub and spend all day trying to explain to a newbie shark that he shouldn't mine where bombs can be repped back onto our own team all day especially considering he probably wont listen anyway.

I don't care if everyone is really good I just want people who actually want to play the game properly, the way it should be played.

I have these problems anywhere i go in tw.. and it gets worse every year.. even in my own squad ppl refuse to try and be as good as me...

I wouldnt start pubbing just because you remove go base, i only get on tw nowadays to chat with squaddies and base (too keep somewhat shape up) when diso doesnt twd when twl is on.

We would get rid of the arena which killed pub (so they say). Too bad it wouldn't bring pub back to "it's old glory". But hey, at least the cancer would be gone!

basically, do not remove ?go base (i wouldnt mind seeing it slightly limited in its use though, but dont remove it)

-add the entry image that shows squad point leaders, change that as often as possible

the point is not to force people to play only in where we want the to play, it is to make it more appealing to play there than anywhere else. if you can make it so people must see the squad point leaders every time they log on, people will want to see their squad on that list. which means a bunch of pub guys might make some squads amongst themselves and eventually climb to more organized parts of the zone. and liek i said, this is non-pure pubs in all their glory. no ship restrictions and private freqs allowed. no need for a timer. make it clear that you get more points if you kill a person while holding the flag then you do when you havent got it. the lt's will be happy because there ahould always be some ppl in the base. the lt's wont get any points however (unless theyre the controlling team). upping the arena cap and rotating maps just help to add some more fun. in a pub setting, more people = more fun. rotating the maps will be fun to keep the people on their toes. (rotate maps only, never the settings)

is the implementation of this so difficult to not have this happen?

1st tk: bot warning, 2nd tk, another warning, 3rd tk: automatically changed to spider and can't change back to jav for 5 mins. warnings reset after 20 mins.
