Thats normally caused by your own CPU lagging. I have to shut down everything when i TWD or i get these occasional spikes, where i lose complete control of the ship (especially when running firefox or visual stuido).

I have a 1.8Ghz cpu so its not a slow computer i just think continuum is kinda cpu hungry it got worse after the 0.40 update before then i never had this trouble.

But he's not talking about controlling spikes on the cheater's side... he's talking about cheaters possibly decreasing his thrust, speed, and rotation, i believe. That, I think, would be significantly harder to do as it would have to go through the server from the cheater's computer to the victim's(for lack of a better word?) client, and then alter their client (as sing said). I could be wrong, but if all of that did happen, I'm pretty sure the server would throw some warnings. I mean, if you could remotely hack another continuum client, then what's to stop them from giving you super or shield or something of that nature?

well then WPE might be able to do it... packet editors work server side... i have no idea how someone WOULD be able to, but there are enough nerds out there that can hack into anything if they try... so i wouldn't put it past them...

although doing that is highly illegal messing with a server... client side its not... but fuck with someones server that isn't yours and get caught... your in for some more shit than just a netban, if the owner of the server cares

Quicksand used to have this hack, that would make us eat 10x the bullets we did the round before, search the forums.

we dd'd QS.. won the first round.. 2nd round comes.. BAM our entire squad begins to lagout.. I for one, once in a bluemoon lagout from a game, and i admit my DSL spikes at times, but wtf, no, not like this, and our entire squad. I did a ?help, and was told it was server lag. It has NEVER happened to me where the entire squad lags like that. Then it seemed that their aim increased 10x, though it was probably me just being pissed off cuz i kept lagging, so im not gonna complain about that. But the fact is, everybody that was online on our squad at the time began to lag extremely bad. So can we really just call that coincidence? -- Rhino HaHa

my point being, you stupid fuk, is that their is a difference between a laggy connection and somehow manipulating your ship's speed to jump outa the way of bullets... But i guess these cheaters try to justify it because of some peoples lag..?

Maybe if you had used the forum search option you would have find out that your problem has been discussed before ( http://forums.trenchwars.org/showthr...ight=speedhack ) and you wouldn't have to ruin a fine thread about non-client side cheats. =)
If you believe it wasn't a speedhack being used but something else then I realy think you should continue your investigation!

I'm not sure if the second part of your message was an implication I'm a cheater trying to justify it cause your a laggot or something but it made me chuckle anyways =)

well... I had this old cable modem that had one of those "suspend" buttons on top that cuts off all traffic then reinstates it when you push it again.

yeah I used that a few times to lagcheat my way into the base.

don't have that modem anymore tho

those cable modems aren't old, they still exist, Cox' new one has it, i know because i own it
