Increase the population of tw...yet another idea

well...after seeing today about a contest in chaos zone...

a universal announcement throughout SS appeared today where it basically asked all the players to attend the Chaos Zone 200 dollar competition where they have players compete for the prize in some sort of a game...

idea is simple, we rip the same idea...

hard part is getting the prize money...but 200...300 dollars for an event that would last 1-2 hours, basically massive game that will draw players in to TW and hopefully attract them to staying here...

good idea? yes? no? maybe? :X

I'd be in favor of ideas that don't cost that much, and aren't so...time consuming? I mean a two hour straight event is pretty hardcore I'd say.

How will new people find out about the contest? This will never work unless people start telling other people about the game, posting on other forums, etc etc.

Also, a one time contest will mainly draw back people who use to play, it may get some to keep playing, but unless there are more contests, I dont think it will be very many.. It definitely could but the chances would increase dramatically if there were more contests.

However, if we start up some sort of donation, and have a contest every month, or every other month, im sure there will be a lot of people who will donate. Just 5 or 10 dollars each person adds up to 100 real quick.

Even adding on a list of donater's to the trenchwars site will surely get some of the ego in this game to donate some money.


However im not sure if this is illegal because it could be considered betting.. And I doubt the people who donate will not want to play for a chance to win..

Monthly event. Set up a donation system. Names of donaters to tw.org. maybe 50% of money to advertising, 50% to prizepool. or something 75-25 / 100-0.
