Well due to people who think TW is their own private Agatha Christie novel, we know FUCK ALL about FUCK ALL.
I get the impression TW has basically told Dist to fuck off, and qan has done so.
So, before we sit on our hands and hope Dist returns to TW. I would like TW's Hierarchy to MAKE IT CLEAR what their intentions are in regard to Distension. Atleast then we will know where we stand.

ok.. EDIT: ... well... fusha and xPi have come to play with me!!! : ))... but... dbot is really screwed up(more than usual). I was just switching between my terr, wb, and weasel and the ships energy keeps changin. My normal energy in weasel is i think 1150(im level 18. z-class), and then i switched to wb then bak again, and it was 1550! HHAAHA, i was tankin yellows and then shootin one after!
I then switched back to my WB and its energy was 1150, and i couldnt shoot multi, i thought my kb was broken, and my wb is lvl 23 scout so plenty enough energy to shoot a multi lvl 2. My terr energy went up to 1900 instead of normal 1650(i think).
AND my javs armory says ive upgraded my energy 49 times out of 19 possible and i have 1729, just gone up to 1778 energy on my level 2 ship. Im shootin 2 jav bombs in a row o.o

so.. yer, somethin is really screwed up with dbot. Maybe he has a fever? or he's just lost it :stuart:

Quick update: still going on this. The last few weeks have been a special kind of hell for me, but Distension is not going down by any means -- just needs a couple of (major) tweaks. There should be a working version up today. The above post shows a demo of an early version.

I'm glad distension is back, but why did terr energy really need to change? i was playing yesterday and my terr couldn't even tank a lvl 2 bullets(lvl 24, warship, with only 1325 energy i think), but before i had about 1600 and something(i think). Terriers need to be able to tank bullets, heaps of people already have lvl 3 bullets, and to put terriers energy down is stupid, they are the main ship on the team, and when theres not many people playing,and theres no terr, people dont want to play terr unless they have a high level one in there hangar.
Or is this encouraging more people to level up there terr more?

go figure, distension was hosted yesterday and the zone recycled. I think i saw a max of 23 ppl there

Huuh? i was there for both hosts, the 45 min one, and the 25 min one, the zone didn't recycle during either of them, and when the player count got to 18 hms killed distension, cause there was too many people.
now I'm confused :S

Energy bug

The energy bug (receiving far less energy than you should) is now fixed. Just thought you might like to know.

Other updates were placed in that are allowing Distension to run without the recycling issues (posted a few days ago on staff forums):

• Increased rearm time. We MAY be able to lower this back down a little once it's clear the game is running fine
• End-round LVZ removed (victory, defeat)
• End-round messages sent out slowly (~5 per clustered packet send)
• All spams (armory, help, etc) in a separate Distension-only message queue shared among all players. This way, if 10 players type !help at the same time, player 1 receives all her messages first, then player 2 receives his, and so on down the line. There will occasionally be noticeable lag in the spams (even now, if you type !help when not many players are playing, you'll see some minor 1/10 of a second lag every 5 or so lines), and commands will be less responsive when many people use them at once. This is normal, but I'll need feedback on settings, such as if it's too slow. It seems fine for now.
• Multiprizes used for prizing energy. Should cut down a bit on prizes sent out. This will need to be expanded to Z-Class. (This is where the energy bug was coming from. As mentioned above, the issue's fixed.)

In other words, we're back and here to stay. HMS and other Ops will be running limited tests in the days to come, slowly increasing length of uptime and number of players, in order to demonstrate the bot is able to run properly. The testings will be intermittent. Apparently they're running pretty late at night, EST, at present... apologies if it's difficult to catch these tests.

Finally, there are also other options in the works that would allow Distension (and all other bots) to run almost lag-free... more to come on this. It's certainly not going away, but we're going to make it work without taking down the zone, and without destroying all other forms of gameplay.
