Hey everyone, just wanted to clarify the destination of the previous donations to the server fund.

The money that was raised through the first iteration of TWSites and the former donation drive went toward hosting the TW websites, including this forum, TWD, TWL, and the all of the Trench Wars bots. The cost for the dedicated server that the game sites were run on was $88/month, paid to Layered Technologies. The funds lasted a few years, but I paid out of pocket for the bots and websites for nearly three years after funds went dry, with nobody knowing I did so. I didn't mind it at all, but there was a point where someone retired from the game for so long should not be paying for its day to day operation, so I called on Pure_Luck to start picking up the tab.

So it's only in the last year or so that Pure_Luck has picked up paying for the bots and websites. I'm donating my services in administering and maintaining the server free of charge as a matter of duty and responsibility to my former game.

Thanks everyone who donated the last time around - it was a great help getting Trench Wars the resources it needed to become the game it is today. One of the zone's major advantages is the dedicated server it uses for databases, bots, and websites.

You should trust Pure_Luck with your donations this time around. I know him personally. He will only use the money to get the word out there about the game and try to get some new players. He makes enough money to pay for these things himself, but stuff like advertising is for the community, so it should be paid for by the community.
