Put an "average kills and average deaths" column on elim stats page. (like the TWD stats page)

When there are enough people, the inner walls open to accommodate, well wouldn't it be nice if once the field of remaining players are down to say 5 to 10, to have the bot notify that in 1 minute the players will be warped and doors closed (no ship reset).

I think this was suggested in an earlier post. Add the "Hider: %tickname - %coord" function from Robo Ref.

Toggled ability: something like !deaths - so the bot PMs you your deaths during rounds.

Make it so when you use !scorereset, it also resets your F2 menu score as well as your !rec but not your !stats.

Question: How are score resets going to work? I think Robo Ref used to delete stats from games older than "X date" or if you didn't play any games for a long stretch it would reset completely.

Suggestion to above: Reset games older than "X months" but only if player is active otherwise reset it completely and reset ALL elim !stats twice a year and have stats saved on pages, announce top rated players on stats page. Basically, more stats!

I just went from 497 rating to 472 after going 16-7.

Also, I have about 2.5:1 kill:death ratio, how the heck can I be below 500 anyway?

So, I want to figure out the original formula for the +/- for players under 300 k + d. My initial thought was to add to the player's rating half of the difference between k + d and the number of kills it takes to be ranked (300).

I came up with...

rating = (300 - (k + d))/2 + (k / d * ave)

so if I assume a starting ave of 300 and I go 2/10 my first round I get 204

10/10 = 440

if I go 20/10 I get 735

if I go 10/2 I get 1644

This seems pretty close to the original formula to me. Thoughts?

I completely agree that the ranking system is extremely flawed. Yesterday I won a game going like 20-7 and my rating went from like 374 to 360 because of the AVE of players that were playing. I can't help that bad players are in...there is no one else to kill.

This definitely needs fixing before you switch to ?go elim. I'd be more than willing to help work on a formula for this and if I figure one out I will post it.

I don't think the +/- thing has anything to do with this. I don't think that ever effected peoples averages with robo ref either. If a player had 300 (+/-100) and you killed them, it still counted as 300 rating towards your average. The +/- was there for ranking purposes. Originally everyone was ranked regardless of their number of kills/deaths, so the +/- would prevent someone who played one game and went 10-1 from being #1 (ie. 3000 (+/-2700) would be mean a rating of 300 when the player was ranked.) Later they decided to make 200 kills/deaths the minimum and then 500 the minimum and the +/- became useless so it doesn't need to be used now.

For some reason now my average keeps going down regardless of the fact that I'm killing people with ratings that should be increasing my average. This has happened so much my average is down to 95 and seems to decrease almost every game. So something is wrong with how the bot is calculating these averages but i can't figure out any pattern to it...

Ya the problem is definitely in the average calculation. I went 12-0 earlier in Elim and my rating went down LOL? Back in the day some of the lowest ave ratings were in the low 200's. I'm see people with an ave under 100. Somoene really needs to look at that code and fix it.

I was testing out the commands to the bot. I did !mvp which should show the three players with the best and worst recs. It gives you the highest 3 recs, but under the worst recs, it gives the same people. Same thing with !wl. Just putting it out there, maybe im wrong.

yeah, rating system is messed up, i went from a 700+ rating to around a 300 rating in elimbeta from consistantly going 16-5 etc, so i just gave up and fed people 1-10 recs as there is no point. If we could find a better rating system that would be great, and it might force myself and other players to try harder again. Will the elim recs reset when the bots are transfered to elim/belim arenas?

P.s. combine elim and belim again, its the best way, we could atleast try it.

Is there anyway that you can release the formula you used for the ranking calculations. I can easily fix it and make it similar to the old one.

I believe once the rating is fixed you will see a drastic influx of people playing elim again. I am beginning to be turned away since my rating just goes down even when i go 12-0 or go better than 3/1. This should be the first priority for you guys and not worrying about !mvp and dumb commands like that.
