Staffers are people who volunteer to spend their time not playing the game so that others can. The kind of people who play a spaceship game and geek out on internet forums also tend to be the kind who chaff at an authority hierarchy of any kind (unless they are part of it), so you can believe that staff receives a steady stream of complaints. If you've spent any time managing people in some capacity, you're probably aware that people are political by nature, and will form alliances and rivalries over the most insignificant crap, and nurse their bitterness for years. Life on staff is probably a process of gradually accruing enemies and detractors, as you spend your time not getting paid to help people who are not grateful.

It's like volunteering to be a referee in dodgeball. You facilitate the game for other people but you don't get to play while you do, and having balls in your face is part of the job.

A feedback system would not work. Too much of the player base lacks the maturity and responsibility to resist the temptation to abuse it. One player with some grievance against a staffer would get all his buddies/squadmates to attend that staffer's events and spam the feedback with bad ratings, in an effort to get him reprimanded or fired. A staffer with the desire to improve probably will, regardless of player feedback, and a staffer with no desire to improve probably will not, regardless of player feedback.

There are already channels for you to report staff abuse. The hurdle has to be high enough so that only the more legitimate complaints make it over. Other than that, being a jerk or a lousy host is not a crime. Deal with it however you can.

Both the Deans of Event Refs do training for new ERs and monitor games. If you have a specific complaint send it to Spacehiker/O.M.G. or compliants@trenchwars.org. While a feedback system is feasible it is, as Captain suggested impractical.
