You can indeed start with 5 shraps, just kill the ones that have it or make note of their names until they're dead. If you have it, use it. Shrap is so fucking easy to plan it's hilarious to see these retards keep whining about it.
Shrap isn't intended to be the primary kill option, just like exploding bombs against a nearby wall. And since it's not full damage it's a great icebreaker in deadlocks, you can make people dodge the shrap putting them in a position you can take advantage of or even better if they don't dodge it, quickly finish them off. But I guess people who only go for direct hits will never understand the value of aiming your shrapnel.
