Are recons allowed?

At first I did ask the staffer to spec hunt. They said it was illegal but then I asked if even hunting in a ship is illegal and they said yes, specially for a staffer. I think the staffer just didn't wanna help me and didn't wanna tell me.

If someone in spec is spechunting and telling someone where a player is, this can be considered illegal. The one in spec will be receiving the warning / punishment .

If you were, literally, flying in outer space, and your wingman called out "[Enemy Name] at [Coordinates]" over the frequency you were talking through, that'd be general protocol? I don't understand how it's illegal just cuz it's in a game? Lol.

People who are playing and giving each other the locations of other players in game isn't so bad. They have to fly their ship around to do it, with all the limitations that imposes - ship speed, risk of death, etc. LTs are easy to identify on radar, tend to go to the same places on the map, and everyone who is not the LT has a vested interest in bringing it down. I see nothing wrong with cooperating to fight it, including telling each other when and where you see it, as long as you're in the game and killable.

But spec hunting someone can be an unfair form of harassment and is illegal for good reason.

It's silly to make spechunting illegal at all, but ok, those are the rules.

I want someone to get in a ship like x or spider as recon and go around telling me where people are, keeping me updated. So it's not spec hunting. I spoke to a staff and they said even this kind of hunting isn't allowed. But I find it hard to believe because people hunt lts all the time.
