Saying all anime is alike is saying that apples = oranges. If you could maybe lay down your unfounded prejudice for an hour or two and watch one episode of each of the following series:

Cowboy Bebop
Lain
Azumanga Daioh
Lodoss

I chose the above four for their animation style and excellent music, intricacy and weirdness of plot, humor, and scope, respectively. Watch them in Japanese. Then turn around and watch Pokémon, Dragonball Z, whatever your previous perception of anime was based on. Watch them in English, in their televised form.

You will see how watered-down and narrow-scoped televised selections are. Cowboy Bebop is on American TV now, in its dubbed and censored form. See the difference.

Erathia has the right of this... Saying "all anime sucks" is like saying "all video games suck" or "all TV shows suck" or "all books suck." You cannot make such a blanket statement and be taken seriously. That's what we call prejudice and ignorance.
