Which is better?

If a player can be given a score for his/her skill in a particular ship, say 90, if he/she is better than 90% of the TW players in that particular ship, or 80 if he/she is better than 80% of the TW population in that ship.


My question is: which one do you perceive as a better player:[list=1][*]scores 99 in 1 ship, but below 65 for all other ships[*]scores 90 for 2 ships, but below 65 for all other ships[*]scores 82 in 4 ships, but below 65 for all other ships[/list=1]

It's like a basic fighter game; you can either have the huge strong but slow guy, the smaller agile but weaker guy or the all-around average guy... each with his/her own special ability...

In this case, i would choose #2, mainly because s/he always has a good backup ship on hand, and that player can be more efficient and useful...
#3, any moron can play a ship with an average skill for each...
As for #1, someone who only plays 1 ship doesn't mean s/he is unstoppable, and if they fail at their "specialty" ship, they fail at everything.

actually its not a bad question its one i have thought about too. and considering that the only ship im really good at is spider i'd say i would take the first or second. being really good at one ship will get you noticed quickly but being well rounded will get you noticed eventually too. they are all good. the same question applies with zones as well as ships.

Stastically, #3 has a better average but that's not the question... I think I prefer #2 (but #1 has it appeal)...

For instance, you'll get noticed faster in #1 as a good ship but I think you'll get noticed faster in #2 as a good player while #3 make you a "Jack of All Trade"

Most of the guys who are 99 in 1 ship are above 90 in the others. Unless you include shark which is an oddity because it's the one ship that doesn't really require much dodging or aiming ability, so the top sharks tend not to be seen in anything else.

It's a tough quesion, and pallies has a couple of guys that fit both categories 1&2. Great players that can only jav (scuzzy) but not wb or wb (mattey) but not jav and those that can do both (HellzNo!). (I'm ignoring basing skills right now). Who is better overall between those 3 guys, eh I don't know. I'm not going to think about it anymore

If you're serious Jonas ( I really can't tell), she meant 4 ships as in 4 different ships jav/wb/spider/terr or something. Not as in ship #4

I'd say all rounders are the best in TW, Its all very well being a good dueler, but it will only get you so far.
