Lev Tuesdays

Leviathans have been a part of Trench Wars from the beginning, lets bring them back. I understand why many of you may not like them. They take away from the basing a little, and no one likes to be unexpectedly blown up. But they are fun to play and LT's are fun to hunt. Rarely is there more than 15 people in the second public arena which quite effectively killed off the Levis. I'd like to see Levis allowed in Pub 0 once again, therefor I propose having one day a week dedicated for the Levi Lovers out there. Please post to this thread to petition for the reinstatment of Levis in Pub 0 for one (or more) days a week.

I'd also like to share a completely different idea which would also allow levi's again by the way..

Is there any way we can start changing the pub map every week (use a set of 8-10 maps and rotate them each week)...It will keep players interested even if levi's are allowed, and it will just keep pubs more interesting in general!

Some players will start to pick their favorite map, and be a little eager to see it back up..this will also keep players interested.

Also, any players that submitted maps a few months ago will finally get to see their map up for one week...

I think this is a great chance to add a new experience to TW, and to keep the pubbing very interesting and challenging to a healthy degree at the same time. For regular basing the base arena will probably also get a little more active again (?go base).

Please consider this idea. Rotate maps each week, place the old style rules back. I think it has a lot of potential to do some good for the zone! I know some other staffers have expressed interest in this idea, so I hope this can be given a shot... I genuinely think it will work out pretty well.

I love playing as a lev. Not even levterr, just trying to enter FR all by myself as a lev. It's sad that they are gone now... : ((

Well, there either is no one interested in getting Levs back, or people are just too lazy to register for a forum acct. I guess I'll just live for the few moments when the Bots die and I can once again crawl around in a Lev and get picked off for 30 seconds.

As a long time hater of levs, I have to say that I really like the change. For the longest time, actual basers in pub were stuck either basing with 12 people or attempting to base while levs who had nothing better constantly bombed the flagroom. It sucks for people who enjoyed levving, but I say good riddance.

I respect your opinion, as I too love the basing aspect of the game. Is one day a week too much to ask to take away the pure pub settings? It would at least be nice to see private freqs opened up at least. I'm just glad to see someone else take interest in this thread even though it's the con opinion. Thanks for the post Frightful.

I suppose one day a week wouldn't be bad. If nothing else, instead of basing, I guess I could just make it "cloak levs and hear them cry" night.



Here's the problem with levs...

They only exist to annoy everyone else actually trying to play the game. There are very few lev basers who actually care about getting the flag. 99% of LTs simply fly in circles around base on a private freq and bomb everyone who is trying to base.

That isn't a problem, before the new generation of pussified players started pubbing people just got in a warbird or a spider with anti warp and actually took care of the fucking problem instead of crying about it 24/7. This is why the padded wall pubs created via bots that literally tell you everything you need to do helped to ruin this game.

but i would also like to see levs (and play lev) in pub 0. i gotta admit leving was the biggest reason i played pub. Proposal, allow 1 lev per team?

to map cycle - was initially against this as TWL is centered around that pub map, but trance made a good point - ?go base would be much more popular, could even make 2 if its flooded.

i'm for both motions

We need more players. If there were more players then pure pub wouldn't be an issue. I will miss this game when it finally runs it's course and joins the digital scrapheap in the sky. Maybe there will be others like me who suddenly decide to look up Subspace and rejoin the community after years of retirement. Myself I quit when VIE died, didn't want to quit but had no choice really. I had no Idea that someone was working on Continuum and it was about 5 years before I decided to look it up to see if there were any servers to log onto. I was very glad to see Continuum. I'm rambling.... Does anyone have the E-mail addresses of the people who played before the VIE death? Maybe there are people like me that do not know that SS lives and is in the Intensive Care Unit and would love to come back. Ok, I'm rambling and getting off the subject of getting Levs back.
