It's hilarious how staff bends over backwards to ban people but does nothing to bring in new players to the zone. No new players + banning those who already play can only possibly lead to the zone dieing.

Yeah, banning people for breaking rules that have been in place for the majority of the time this zone has existed sure is "bending over backwards."

Not to mention I just said that I've been pushing to make racism no longer bannable. Along with that, teamkilling in pubs, spamming, and most other offences would no longer be bannable, either. This would honestly cut down zone bans by about 95% leaving only people that flat out cheat with outside programs or those that intend to be banned. Instead of banning for racism/spamming/etc we will silence instead, and instead of banning for teamkilling we will restrict these players from using any ship with bombs.

Now let's look at our peak years and what the game entailed back then:

1. No automated bots in events. We need more player to staff interaction.
2. Less of the Nazi shit by staff. It's a free game, who are you guys to make all these changes without doing ingame polls. (not everyone logs onto these forums)
3. Remove the racism rule entirely. We all know the ?ignore command. Do people seriously get offended from someone on an online game?

1. The "peak years" of the game (highest zone populations and TWD activity) came after automated TWD and bots were brought into the game.

1. I think he means the staffers who after an event is finished take five minutes to announce the winner because they are afk instead of watching the event.

2. The_Paul getting banned in game and sub sequentially banned on the forums ten minutes after by the same staffer.

The length of time you were doing it for is meaningless, because if I didn't ban you then you would have just kept doing it until TWL or even later. 2 weeks is the standard ban for doublesquadding. I didn't see that you evaded it until 4 days later when you'd already played several games on the newest name, so I added the 4 back + another week for evading it. I'm not sure why you thought you'd get away with it when you got banned almost instantly the first time. Look, I'll remove the extra week, but you're still keeping the 14+4 days ban.

See, this is exactly why doublesquadding bans are 2 weeks or longer, because people think they're going to get away with it and probably have in the past when our methods of catching people were far less advanced. 3 days is hardly enough to deter anyone from doing it, but now I bet you won't do it again, right? I hope not, because a second offence doublesquadding ban is generally 2 months.


I see the "off-season" thing was already covered by PH. This isn't the off-season, no, so most of your argument falls apart right there. Besides, allowing it during the off-season would just create a nightmare for TWD ops because you know people wouldn't just voluntarily leave their second squads when the TWD season started, and then we have 1000 people with 2 TWD accounts. It's already a big enough pain in the ass to track this stuff. No, just no. For probably the first time in the history of TWD the whole doublesquadding thing has been kept on top of and we're not going to screw with it now.

However, on the racism subject, I have been pushing to make racism no longer a bannable offence unless it's used in player names or squads. Instead, it would be a silence for the amount of time you'd normally be banned for. Actually, "War" is currently on a 3-day silence for continued abuse of ?help and racism. We're not going to just allow people to be racist assholes, but I think getting silenced is better than getting banned altogether.

I didn't read your post beyond a skim through, but I think you need to reevaluate this. Deadly Divas is ranked 2nd on the TWDD ladder right now. Also, dice, fierce, sweet, etc squads are garbage. So... what's good about them?

Also, I'm not aliased on deadly divas. I'm not dbl squadding. Kyou and I just took them to 2nd place with very little effort. Not very hard to beat squads these days. Maybe you should try making one of your lower ranked squads that you dbl squad on into a real contender by actually playing for them for real?

Well, then again.. that would require you to win games, which obviously you haven't, or those squads would have won with you playing on them. Instead, those of us who don't double squad just play on them and win. 2nd place in TWDD is pretty good for a squad that started at 800 rating. TWD is pretty uncompetitive, so... maybe you should try actually playing for those squads for real? You wouldn't get banned, and you could "show" those players what it feels like to win.

You know what I've found? Those players aren't as bad as you think. Obviously they are beating those "good" squads that you've named, so probably you are misjudging the "newbies" just a bit? If only a couple players can turn deadly divas into a top 5 squad, then obviously something is wrong with your misjudgement of those "newer" players.

I agree with this, but getting banned for just reasons is what it is. He knew not to do it, so he got banned.

I've been banned probably 20 times over my time playing TW. I knew exactly what I was doing every time I did it. Did I like getting banned? No. Did I accept it? Sometimes, and sometimes not. Did I whine, moan, bitch, complain, etc etc? Sure. Did I quit the game just because I did something stupid and was rightfully banned for it? Obviously not.

I do agree that staff should do more in trying to bring new players in, but the banning this is a moot point. Whether or not jaalin gets banned doesn't affect new players whatsoever.

I've double squadded before, and I got a 2 MONTH ban from TWD. Why? Because I've "double squadded" In 2003 when it first became illegal, and so staff saw I did it 7 years ago and freaked out. I think that was the only problem I had. Two weeks is nothing. I had 2 months, because I did something along the same nature SEVEN YEARS ago. Apparently, old offenses never get erased, but only stack onto each other. Not even felonies in real life last longer than 7 years. If there is ever an issue about bans, that is the only issue I have. Otherwise, the ban is right and he deserved it. I did my 2 months like last year and deserved the ban. Did I deserve 2 months? Probably not, but I didn't exactly quit for it, and it didn't change anything in the grand spectrum of TW.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

Garbage? Your squad has never beat sweet so far and it probably won't, because the whole zone found out that your squad consists of bunch of aliased qs trash, so they might abstain from starting basers in a dd vs. your skillless suicides. And you are ranked 5th now, not 2nd, simply because of the fact squads finding out who the 'aliased newbies' on deadly divas are. It's ok that you help newbies get good, but you using that as reason to talk trash is not.
