Hi. Today I played TW Pub 0 for about eight hours straight, from 10 AM to 6 PM, eastern standard time. Unhealthy, I know, but I don't do it often.
Throughout a big chunk of this time, a particular jav, Lmaonaise (his name well chosen as a griefing account, a conjunction of LMAO and mayonaise), kept TKing. I kept trying to move from freq to freq, but he followed. Eventually Pub 0 became full, and since it is the only playable pub arena (i.e. more than 5 ships playing), we were all stuck with the teams we had. Many of my team-mates, on whichever freq I was on, complained about him too. We all tried ?cheater, and I even tried PMing Ara out of sheer desperation (he either was afk or just ignored me). I think once in that whole eight hours a mod came and specced him. As soon as he was out of spec, he started doing it again. We got no relief from him, and no further help, either. He is by no means the only Jav doing this, but he stands out as the worst offender for today. Others that do it on purpose lately include campbell_soup.
Not only does Lmaonaise TK on purpose, ruining the Pub 0 for everyone, but he gloats about it in team chat, with comments like "EZ" (to his team-mates), every time he does it.
It just seems that things are getting worse and worse with the Javs. If it's not feasible for staff to be on top on this, due to understandable constraints, then Jav and Shark should not be accessible to players with excessive TK stats. There are several ways to implement this, some have already been tried in the past, all have been already discussed, but it's really time to do something about this. It's a shame that some players seem to always insist on ruining everyone's fun, but we have to do something about it so Pub 0 basing remains fun and playable for the majority that are there to base and practice, not grief.
At one point, a handful of Javs joined Lmaonaise in his griefing fun. One commented: "It's never been so fun to suck." So essentially, he is teaching other new players what we do here, what is acceptable, fun, and part of the game. If you feel, as I do, that new players should not learn to be comfortable and happy as TKers, then please join with me, and let's do something about it. Thanks.
