Meh fludd, some of the ideas might be over reaching but I think we are at the point where we have tried what we have been trying for a good five years now, and it obviously hasn't been working, people are tired of it or whatever. I think radically changing things for a while to see if some of my theories work couldn't hurt any more than doing nothing would.

just have both running at the same time, enter in as ship 1 for elim, ship 2 for belim (u can interchange by changing freqs as well)

If one game is finished, and the other is still going, then go ahead and start up the next game for the one that finished.

If both finished and are in the phase of voting (then allow one to finish before the other -- whoever finished first i guess) by zoning an arena message saying something along the lines of:

Elim voting will begin as soon as Belim voting ends.

Don't merge elim/baseelim

Keep the streaks, but add to them. The current setup I think only goes up to a certain number... like... 19 maybe? Set it higher? I've always loved the streaks. I don't really care if Jones likes them or not, but I play elim as a golf game almost. I only lose when I beat myself, so therefore, I want to increase my score as much as possible. Streaks are just a fun way to say I can go 20-0 without dying in elim... or... I can go 30-0 now... or 40-0... etc.

The win streaks are also a bit low. I remember I won like 12 straight, and it stopped counting after like 10? I kinda felt that was dumb. I like to see different elim zoner messages with it too... like... depending on how many people that played and their rating/average and the rec you ended with. I dunno if any of that is possible, and that was really vague, but I'm too buzzed to really think of a lot of things atm.

I'd like to see a zoner of an elim game if say... maybe a few of the top 5 rated elim players are playing in a game. I don't usually care about playing elim unless I know there are good players playing to make it challenging and interesting. Beating up on newbs really isn't fun. If I saw that 2 or 3 of the top 5 elim players were playing in a game, I would play in an effort to knock them off. The same goes for when you see a player have a 7 game win streak. I'll play to knock their streak off, because I'm tired of the zoner.

Banzi logs in like once a year, plays an elim game, and then leaves for another year. I'd like to see a system where I can message the bot to pm me if a specific player is playing elim. If banzi played, I would immediately want to jump in and play. I'm sure other players have their own person they enjoy facing off against, and so perhaps this is a good method for getting people interested in playing an elim game at certain periods. I dunno if this is feasible to code or not, but I like the idea anyway.

riske, the problem is that elim/belim rounds will always take varying lengths of time to complete. inevitably, both rounds will end up finishing at the same time. it won't happen often, but it'll happen nonetheless.

You misunderstood what I mean. One will ALWAYS finish at least a second before the other, so that one gets to vote first. Then 20 seconds later, or however long it takes to vote, the other one starts. It wouldn't be very long wait at all, voting is the only quick part!

Anyways, back in the days when we had only one elim arena, we had also bigger and more interesting games. We need competition and i think when we add old ranking system to elim where you can play wb or jav, it would be competition people are looking for. Fix the website elim once had and we're done

the biggest problem with the new elim is the ability to !scorereset. sarrow and riverside do it after pretty much every game they play. i've seen tohn and poseidon do it like 800 times when trying to rank. back when elim was actually a competitive arena, everyone tried because ranks and ratings actually meant something. your stats stuck with your name for 3-6 months until robo ref would reset it. you only had as many chances to rank as you had aliases with over 36 hours usage. nowadays you have infinite chances to get a good rating.

why was the minimum usage requirement removed anyway? in my opinion it was there to stop people from creating random names and trying to rank as opposed to keeping the newbies out. now people can go on any random name and try to rank or hunt someone when they're trying to streak, it's annoying.

take away the ability to !scorereset, bring back the usage requirement and it will make people actually care about how they do and start to try in elim. you used to be able to make a name for yourself in elim by having a good rating, now nobody really gives a damn because there's not as much value to it. i remember being excited every time robo ref reset ranks, cause the great elim players would always try to get #1. i can't even remember the last time i tried to !rank someone

i believe the 36h usage limit was removed to let genuine new players to play elim / baseelim once in a while. not that it happened that often at all.

also, !scorereset should be removed. :P

why not have both elim and belim in same ?go elim arena and for the voting issues, just have people pm bot with vote? (similar to cap voting in wbduel) would avoid chat spam of numbers, especially if both have just ended. idk, just my 2 cents

- Removal of !scorereset
- Removal of useless votes(sharks, levi, etc.)
- New and improved ranking system( ELO Ranking is a good system. )
- Prized events
- MORE tournaments
- Remove all staff members that are useless(Most of them are useless if you are wondering)
- Switch to DirectX; gid interfaces suck.
