You could make the doors open/close at random (like they do for the side entrances for fr), or maybe there is some way you can purchase the door to stay closed for x minutes. Or maybe just put a bot-ship there.

Levi is my favorite ship. Back when I actually played this game I played levi solo and got a good rec. Just because people suck at levi doesn`t mean you should take it away, just let people get good at it. I, for example, would even like a levi duels arena! That`s the skill. Levi elims were always my favorite. I did like old levi better, but new one is ok. Reps are a must, but oldschool levi was my favorite. Don`t scrap levi. What are you, crazy?

well i like xog's intent, but not the map :P the roof became way overcomplicated. just a simple bar would prevent LT's from campin' in the asteroids and draw them closer to roof.

magi koz, hunting LT's is fun and definitely challenging, but I don't believe the average player would be willing to die 12 times to get that 4-fer. personally i can't even really tolerate having to fly allll the way to the roof only to have a terr burst-kill-port away more than 2-3 times before i get annoyed, at which point i just hang out in mid and get kills without having to be FR-bombed all the time.

also random question: is it possible to set dmg and prox high enough for one bomb to kill everyone in an arena? completely unrelated, just something that would be so awesome to see happen

As per your last question jeromidome,

*thor # = Sets players thor level to #. 0 = normal, > 1 = instant death, larger the #, the larger the prox (version 1.34.1 or higher)

But I think this might only work for Thors.

Think about the ship as a whole. It's a piece of shit. The new levi solution is just a joke. It gives preference and ability to the only players with enough time on their hands to have the pub bucks to actually levterr.

I'd be cool with upping the attach bounty to 50 and going back to old lev (the one with the port and the reps, no rocket.)

Let's, as the newly formed committee to change the levithan to something not shitty, should all agree on something though. Something other than the fact that the current situation has a negative effect on pub.

Set the levi back to having so much energy, it can take a L3 hit + extra speed and everything else it had. Then Give the Levi the NiteWasp Bomb.

Bring the price of Levi Upgrade down to 1250 so that if someone does want to LT they can only do so by buying it, otherwise they are stuck with L2 Bombs by default

Understand? This is the solution. Nitewasp Level 2 bombs with EMP and can only have Level 3 bombs if it buys them for 1250.

another more conservative compromise that i think is even better is to have the price for upgrade levi just be 500. So No LTing could be done at all unless they pay 500 to get back up to Level 3 bomb

By even suggesting this, I'm really taking a huge chunk out of the fun I have in pub, but its probably for the best of all concerned. Anyways....It is extremely rare for me to LT (I usually terr) and net anything less than 100 kills per run. I don't care how talented of a LT hunter you are, I have a way to avoid you with the new !buy system in place. I consistently !buy portals and warp all over the map, and bursts just so i can kill any stragglers left behind. If you decide to antiwarp me, my levi will always have !buy pwarp:Lizard Fuel which is immune to the effects of anti, returning me to spawn where I quickly warp back to whatever portal I had. With these 2-3 macros I can pretty much guarantee a streak of 100 every time, barring some sort of off the wall lucky stray or something (which always happens eventually).... The way to prevent this would be to prevent terrs from using the !buy feature when a levi or any ship over 50 bounty is attached, and preventing levis from using the !buy feature when attached to a terr. Its a very simple fix and would drastically reduce the amount of garbage we have flying around outside base lobbing blind bombs.

so i decided to stop talking out of my ass and hop into a lev (props to unknown warrior~ for terring), and after learning those decidedly tricky roof shots and admiring the skill involved, i started to rack up a few kills. after 15, the bot PM'd me telling me i was streakin' with 15 kills, and i couldnt enter safe. i'd never had a kill streak in pub before... but anyways, after LTing for a sec i came, re-read this thread from a slightly different POV, and this post jumped out at me. i think it would be a good start. the only real disadvantage i see is over the long run, you basically "starve" the LT into being vulnerable, which seems unfair for a genuinely talented LT. maybe levs can't !buy, but every 20 kills or so they get prized a rep?

If the levi's settings are changed to reflect a 1000 bounty requirement to attach, players would literally be forced to !buy the ability to levterr. This will give the LT the mindset that its a commitment, so they will be hesitant to waste it, so they will try harder and not just pick a random terr to attach to. I think it will, in turn, cause them to be more tactful because of the risk involved. At the same time, it will give all the other players a large incentive to hunt down the LT for the cash reward for killing a high bountied player.

This can replace the !buy superlev option since it has the same function.

I would be fine with the way the lev is now, its just one thing ticks me off about it. Seems like this newer version has a much longer repel-lock than any previous incarnation. I mean seriously, sitting there for over 4 seconds trying to use a rocket after a repel is a pain in the ass. That and change the damn rotation speed, almost 5 seconds just to do a 180 is too extreme as well

I like the idea of !buy leviterr, or something similar; however, I don't think it should replace !buy superlev - maybe I want purple bombs without all that bounty?
