First off I want to apologize on behalf of staff for the recent downtime with the bots, I know it sucks when you guys can't login to play TWD and play Pub like you are used to. So thanks for bearing with us while staff was working to get things back up and running. Thanks to the hard work of several individuals however everything is back up and running. Most of the main websites we use are now available through the .net extension, and M_M told me that in the future all of our websites will probably be accessible through both .net and .com.
What happened was the bots were lagging terribly and the Pub bot was malfunctioning and Pure_Luck decided to reboot the bot server, which generally isn't that big of a deal, except when it happened the server crashed due to hardware epic failure. The first night they sorta ignored PL when he tried calling and emailing, he drove to the place to get the information about what happened. The next day or two was spent dealing with the idiots who run our server while we tried our best to keep things running smoothly. Now we are just waiting on Priitk for the final fix.
Just a list of things that are happening right now, and updates etc.
- TWD matches aren't going to be reported to the TWD site as of right now because the bots are coded to send the information to the .com address, but the matches are still being saved and once Priitk links the IP's between the two sites the information as far as games played since TWD has been back up and running will go through and be reported, so the current games do matter still.
- I am not 100% sure about this but it is likely that TWL will be moved back a week because of the several days of playing time that have been lost during this bot crash.
- The current Pub system is the permanent pub system, any money you earn will be kept, basically all of the bots that are up right now are the full time bots.
- Everyone should send a thankyou to Pure_Luck for driving an hour into town to get these ass clowns whose hardware crashed our bot servers to actually tell him what happened instead of giving us the run around, Dezmond for getting the temporary bots working when they crashed, and Wingzero for running temporary bots from his personal computer so everyone here could play some elim and wbduel. Also Disown, Lizard Fuel, and Johnie for hosting tons of manual elim matches for everyone at the peak of downtime, I know lots of other people hosted but these guys went above and beyond spending several hours hosting elims each day the bots were down.

Anyways it sucks that this happened, but well shit happens and you can't always expect (free) games to run 100% smoothly even though this one generally does. To prevent this kind of problem in the future we are going to have a backup bot server setup to run things with minimal functionality in case this happens again. Anyways, once again let me reiterate, I know lots of you were pissed off, a lot of guys spent most of their weekends getting this game back online, even though you couldn't play they still deserve some credit, and in the end we now are going to have a backup system in place to make sure it doesn't happen again. Overall, job well done in my book.
