please introduce a usage limit to base. Base these days is full of aliasers, whom beg for cap, and gets it from mods who just dont care, and then when they mess up, they throw away their new name and create another one, bc generally base is a one shot deal, if you put yourself in a very improtant ship such as jav, terr or shark, and screw up chances will be that you will not get picked. so i think making a limit of 40 hours or something will greatly enhance the .?go base games, considering people will work hard to become better, instead of just creating a new name and starting fresh. and it will also allow caps of base to notice you more if people stuck with one name. Just a suggestion

Why is everything solved using usage? Basing if dependent largely on reputation and an aliased player has none. Besides, why do you care if someone aliases to play a game of base with a fresh record. The proverbial pissing contest is found in indistinguished and immature people, why not transcend the need to find out what everyone's score is and just play the damn game? In reality, the reason for why "they" (the aliasers) alias is because of "you" (the anti-aliasers). It is a cyclic creation where because "you" care about what their record is, "they" in return must find a way to alleviate the stress. If, theoretically, "you" were to not care then "they" in return would not care. A simple case of cause and effect. And on a side note: when one side cares and the other side doesnt it is often considered ego.
PS - Game theory perhaps?

Yes, but, see. Basers don't care about rec - ask any shark, ask any spid who's had to go up against a tough line. The reason why people do not get played in ?go base games is: We the established basers don't know if the newcomers can perform well. AzNbOi38KeWl might ask to be a spid, but if a captain allows him to, he might ram mines, camp, or generally be useless. A lot of people play ?go base for fun, but a lot of people take it seriously, as well.
If a newcomer sits in spec and says "ima good spid let me spid ill terr fi u need terr," it becomes annoying. Little good it will do me to say it here, but if you are an unknown name in basing and you want to play, it's best to private message the captain and ask politely if you could play or be subbed in.
Captains pick "famous" people because they will be assured the basing will be of a certain level of quality. Record might play a part in choosing of a terr, and even someone with a shitty rec will play if they have a good rep... But the only way to get ahead in basing is to stick to one nick and play well with it. Even if you suck, you should stick to one name, because when "we" find out who "you" are, "we" might pick you even less than "we" had originally intended.

Why do i care? you obviously have no notion of the mentality of base, this isnt elim, in base, captains have to know who is good at what, and that is built through watching people play. Therefore with aliasers that warps that concept, as captains no longer know what they are good at, since these aliasers appeared fresh off the scene, maybe its best if people built their "reputation" from the ground up. A couple of other things.
1. no one cares for "records", we only remember positive records.
2.you more or less mean notions, of whether a type of person is good at jav, shark, etc.
3.Dont the aliasers care as well, as they are aliasing because they care for what their reputation is, and therefore deems it worthy to start a fresh.
and yes, your right, i do care for basing, who really wants shitty basing matches, when one side is so stacked and the other bare.Levs r gay.

Can you believe it used to be an issue when captains would only pick veterans on a team instead of the rising basers?
One of the great things about base is that people can go there to learn how to really base, granted..you need the right captains to pick a new person every now and then, but certainly, there should be no limit for who can play. This fallacy does not occur often condit. If you put a ?usage limit on ?go base, basing quality will become very monotonous...eventually losing the fun part, keep it real.Ну вот...

You see... usage for elim is reasonable, because anyone would be able to play if there weren't any limits there and all holy hell would break loose.
But having usage limit in ?go base would be rather meaningless, because in order to play, the players have to get picked; if you don't have good "rep" in TW you're not likely to get picked. So who picks the team? The captains.
With that said... the problem isn't coming from the newbies, it's coming from the captains that have no idea what the hell is going on (who pick the newbies). I say if any action is to be done, do something ensuring these ignots are never to capt.
Remember private basing? That CREATED ?go base

It'd be nice if there was a rather high usage limit to Cap, Terr or Jav. Other than that, I don't mind newbies as long as they don't pretend they know what they're doing. If it's your first time in ?go base, or even your third, ACT LIKE IT. Otherwise you'll just get yelled at.
