I think before anyone starts doing this a really good demo video needs to be made. Possibly a canned post, too. I'd try to do it but video looks like crap when I try to record it.

The first thing most people are going to do is check youtube, not download the game.

People are lazy they arent going to download game and install it just to find out if they like it, when they can just move the mouse and click once.

EVERY single popular game has awesome montages, its never been done well for this game. Most of all the videos are of continuous play etc and that just doesnt show the game off well enough in a short period of time.

And I agree canned post is a very bad idea unless someone can come up with a REALLY good one.

A great montage would be great but generally its the game showing off its graphics, I hate to say it but I think the best way to promote this game is to talk about how different it is than games where you point and click. All the different styles of events, zones, ships, really great chat system, leagues, squads, etc. I think seeing the graphics might be a turn off. It's like how fat girls post tiny pictures on their match.com profiles and hope people will contact them based on their personality and not the looks. TW has lots of personality but the looks might turn some people off :P If they come into the game knowing some of the cool stuff about the game itself maybe they can get over the graphics.

Maybe someone could write a paragraph about what makes this game good that would make people want to play that people could copy/paste from this thread and they could do the rest of the message on their own so it doesn't sound like a bot posting it.

Yea but do we want the people who would be turned off by the graphics anyway? We want people who enjoy the skill / teamwork of games. Graphics don't mean everything when you can see how "deep" a game can be.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if the korean's found out about this game, every single top squad would be considered mediocre in just a few months.

We need someone who can make a video that has a goal. Show off the rushing/teaming in twdd, someone who can show off the teaming and awesome bank shots and hole shots in twjd, someone who can show off the teamwork in twbd, a spid gettin a couple greens and goin apeshit on other team, shark doin some crazy reps killing terr, some terrs escapin crazy shit and getting ridic warp/kills, etc etc.

Then of course a little section of the video showing pub(NOT focusing on pubbucks), and some of the more popular events, like hockey, etc etc.

A lot of you have probably played this game, or have friends who had played it at one point in time, and there is good reason for it. This game has is one of the oldest online multiplayer shooter games, one of the longest running online games period.

Yea the graphics suck, but this game wouldnt work with new graphics. What shooter games have a 360 degree view of your environment? When you have a top down view things drastically change. You can do things you cant do in a fp view. What game demands you to not just dodge bullets that you can see, but dodge those bullets EVERY time you play? This game lets you see a huge amount of information at one time, see exactly where your team members are and EXACTLY what they are doing. Yea we know the graphics suck, but no other game can offer quite the same experience as 8v8(+) in a tiny room dodging thousands of bullets like its the matrix.

If you love shooters, or even real time strategy games, and can get past graphics, you'll love this games depth, give it a try.

I like it, I tried to keep mine the same way.. the shorter the better with forum crowds. And when you don't sound like a spam bot its cool also.

I know this is a mildly taboo subject in today's world, but has anyone tried a concerted effort to promote the game on places like reddit? I know the one time I did, I got a bunch of "nostalgia" replies. Perhaps if we push the game in force instead of just fat little coja, we could get word out?

Just an idea.

edit: didn't check any of the other threads on the site, just popped in from pub to throw in my two cents. If you want to help me in promoting on reddit, gimme a hollar. same name.
