Pub betting system?

    Pub betting system?

    Sorry in advance if there is already a thread about this, but I'm a bit confused by the pub betting system. I decided to give it a try, and here is what happened:

    StarWeaver> !money
    TW-Pub1> You have $16290 in your bank.

    StarWeaver> !beton bonghits:2000
    TW-Pub1> [OK!] Your bet for $2000 has been deducted from your balance and placed on BongHits. Good luck! (NOTE: you'll lose your bet if you leave the arena before the duel is finished.)

    StarWeaver> !beton bonghits:10000
    TW-Pub1> [NOTE] Your previous bet of $2000 has been returned to you.
    TW-Pub1> [OK!] Your bet for $10000 has been deducted from your balance and placed on BongHits. Good luck! (NOTE: you'll lose your bet if you leave the arena before the duel is finished.)

    TW-Pub1> [BET WON] BongHits defeated BugySwartz. You win $10000!

    StarWeaver> !money
    TW-Pub1> You have $14290 in your bank.

    Am I missing something here? I came out with less money than I started with after winning a bet.

    looks like its not registering the new dollar amount, and then subtracting the original amount you bet on him (to win) when he lost, and then telling you you won

    so basically whoever made this has 3 errors

      The only error is that it stole your first 2k. You can only win money if someone bets against you. The bot doesn't create money for betting.

        That is as it should be and makes sense. Thanks for the explanation 24. Only one real bug is not returning the 2k. However, I think the bot should return your money and let you know that no one bet against you once the one minute betting period has expired. It says "You win $XXXXX" right now and you have to watch the entire match to get your money back.

          I think the point is to have it where people can't leave to cancel the duel. I'm sure there is a way around this (programatically)...but I think the pub system was setup to only xfer money to people in the room. It might not be worth it to re-program though. I'll look into it.

            On your other point, I agree. I'd like it to say none bet against you, here is your money back. But, even if you leave, if none bets against you, your money should return (nullifying my last post's thought). Wingzero would be the expert on this.
