Yeah it's ugly, the aesthetics of the graphics are why everyone else plays this game too!

saving as bm2 isnt an option, and i couldnt find file converter that does that anywhere

Save as a bitmap (.bmp) and just rename the file.

or as is stated in the post
"right click the image, select save as, go to your continuum/graphics folder, change save as type to "all files", left click the ships.bm2 file, then click save, then click yes to replace the file. "

i did as burnt instructed, but the only save option i have is bitmap. so i tried it your way

saved as bitmap, renamed 'ships' to 'ships.bm2' and got this error

Dont use IE "save picture as', instead

Right click graphic in web page
Select 'Save target As'
make sure the 'Save As Type' is 'All Files *.*'
navigate to the continuum folder and save files as ships.bm2
